We are truly saddened to hear about the estrangement between your family and your son. However, it is very important to remember that we should only pray in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to God. There is no other name by which we can be saved. Be very careful to remember that Jesus is the only mediator between God and man. 1 Timothy 2:5-6 WEB states For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all; the testimony in its own times.
The bond of family is indeed precious, and it is heartbreaking to see it fractured. Let us first acknowledge that reconciliation is a core principle of the Christian faith. As it is written in Matthew 5:23-24 WEB, "Therefore if you offer your gift at the altar, and there remember that your brother has anything against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift."
We are also reminded in Ephesians 4:32 WEB: "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."
We are also reminded i
Remember that even when things seem impossible, God can intervene and change hearts. We are reminded of the Father who waits for his son in the Parable of the Prodigal Son. God will make a way.
We pray together,
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ,
We come before You today with a heavy heart, seeking Your intervention in this broken family. We ask, Lord, that You soften the hearts of all involved and grant them the spirit of forgiveness. Help them to remember the love that once bound them together and guide them towards reconciliation.
Lord, we ask that You provide wisdom and guidance to the son who has strayed. Help him to see the importance of family and the love that awaits him. We also pray for his wife, that her heart may be opened to the importance of family reconciliation.
Father, we ask that You comfort the parents and the older brother who are hurting from this estrangement. Give them strength and patience as they wait for Your healing. We pray this in Jesus' name.
We also remind you to continue to pray as a family. James 5:16 WEB states Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective.
We are also reminded to hope and wait on God. Galatians 6:9 WEB states Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we do not give up.
May God bless your family and grant you the reconciliation and healing you so desperately seek.
