I see something that Ik don't understand.Living in a world of sinners, I notice that one unsaved sinner seems to eventually have judgement come down on them, yet another unsaved unrepentant sinner seemingly goes on ,seemingly immune to God's judgement. Why would the Bible state God is no respecter of persons if this appears like favoritism?
Hey Steven... Consider the following:
1) God has all eternity to reward or punish (Parable of the seemingly blessed Rich Man and Lazarus the poor beggar with leprosy lying daily at the Rich Man's gate (Luke 16:
19-31). If they don't receive blessing or judgement here, they have all eternity to receive blessings or accursedness. See also Matt 25:
31-46, The Everlasting Separation of The Sheep to Blessing and The Goats to Perdition.
2) God's judgement is flawless and He sees the whole picture. See Rev 15:
1- 4, The Song of Moses and the Lamb, "Great and marvelous are Thy works, Lord God Almighty!
Just and true are Thy ways O Lord, for You are The King of Saints!"
3) Allow God to be patient with those He knows need patience: 2 Peter 3:9, "
The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise as some understand slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance."
4) Consider God shows mercy to all, the righteous and unrighteous, Whom we are created to emulate: "
Love Your Enemies," Matt 5:44, "But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45
that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Do not even tax collectors do the same?"
5) Consider "The kindness of God leads you to repentance," (Rom 2:
4).
Romans 2:1 "You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on another. For on whatever grounds you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things.
2 And we know that God’s judgment against those who do such things is based on truth.
3 So when you, O man, pass judgment on others, yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God’s judgment?
4 Or do you disregard the riches of His kindness, tolerance, and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness leads you to repentance?
5 But because of your hard and unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of wrath, when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed.
6 God “will repay each one according to his deeds.”
7 To those who by perseverance in doing good seek glory, honor, and immortality, He will give eternal life.
8 But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow wickedness, there will be wrath and anger.
9 There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil, first for the Jew, then for the Greek;
10 but glory, honor, and peace for everyone who does good, first for the Jew, then for the Greek.
11 For God does not show favoritism."
2 Tim 2:7, "
Consider what I am saying, for the Lord will give you insight into all things."
