I recently euthanized Coco, m y 17 year old toy poodle due to my medication error. He stopped eating, drinking and was getting weaker and I thought it was old age. .I am trying to forgive myself but I know he must have been suffering from the med error. I feel so broken and sorry that my poor dog probably suffered and I did not know because he never whimpered. Heartbroken

Edna, I recently had to put down my dog, Star who was 12 years old. She is the big doggy in my picture.  It was the hardest thing I had to do.  She had diabetes and a stomach issue.  You loved your dog for 17 years and did the best for your dog.  I do wonder if we dragged it out with Star or not. Till a week before we put her down she was happy and cheerful but we do wonder if her gut issue was causing her pain or not.  I know in the end we did right by letting her go to heaven though. You also did the right thing. God Bless You.

Edna, we know that G_d works in mysterious ways. Perhaps it was through his hands that Coco was taken home. You may have well saved her from the pain of a future illness, accident or other, we must have faith that this was G_d's will. Let us find comfort in the love you shared and know she is now freely with the Lord. We cannot know the reason, but I strongly believe...you need not feel guilt. Remember her... and though it is through grief, rejoice in all the wonderful years of joy and happiness and companionship... Please do not allow this last tiny piece of her life to tarnish the years of dedication, love and warmth she's brought to your soul as you brought to hers as a beloved pet... I pray for you.. to find comfort  - we are with you.... bless you.

It's not your fault Edna. God is the one that gives life and God is the one that takes it. 17 years is a very long time for a dog to live and I'm sure you gave Coco a very good life.

Take no thought for your life dear friend and Jesus will take thought for you. Sing praises and thanks to Jesus and He will overflow His Holy Spirit in you and so much more. He will fight for you and give you the desires of your heart

Let Us Pray:  God I ask in Jesus' name, bless me to grow closer to You.  I long for a more intimate relationship with You.  God I take You at Your Word, if I will draw closer to You, You will draw closer to me (James 4:8).  Show me how to draw closer to You.   Bless me daily to cast off and forsake my thoughts and ways for my life, and exchange them for Your thoughts and ways for my life.  Let me think Your thoughts and dream Your dreams for my life.  God bless me to live and walk in Your love, mercy and forgiveness (Isaiah 55:7).  I confess, I will take no thought for my life.   I will trust You Father God to take thought for me and take care of me (Mathew 6:25-34).  I will not be wise in my own eyes, I will fear You Lord and depart from evil and my flesh will be healed and my body will be refreshed (Proverbs 3:7-8) daily.  Thank You Jesus for Your Promises!  Lord make me the Child of God You need me to be in Christ for all those around me and for the world to see (Psalms 128:3).  Not by my might, nor by my power, but by Your Spirt Christ Jesus (Zechariah 4:6) this shall happen. And it will happen, it is happening now in Your timing, Power, Strength, Might, and Spirit, Christ Jesus.  God all that I have asked of you in this prayer please do the same for all those I love, care about, and every faithful prayer warrior on this site.  Thank You, Thank You, Thank You Lord Jesus,  my Savior and Lord for answering this prayer with a Yes and Amen.

I want to thank each of your wonderful people for your prayers and wonderful words of support.  It has helped a lot.  God is good and he is giving me strength.  If it be His will, the Lord can give me another dog.  Each of you has blessed me in ways you shall never know until we all meet in heaven where there is no more sickness, mistakes and death.
