I really need so much prayer right now! Please pray that God helps me to make a difficult decision. I am in a relationship with someone who wants to marry me. But I do not yet have blessings from my concerned mother. But my boyfriend is telling me that my parents cannot decide who I love. But I keep remembering the commandments...the only one that has a promise from God, "Honor thy mother and thy father, and your days on this earth shall be long." Please pray for God to give me strength in this and to do the right thing....

Col.3:1-2 *Is anything too hard for God? Oh, no, He is able to do abundantly above all we have ever dreamed or asked. Just trust Him to lead You even if it is not in the way you had it planned. He knows what He is doing if you will just trust HIM. Glory to His Name!

I pray the Lord will guide you into making the correct decision about whether or not to marry this man. Sometimes our family, especially our mom and dad, can see things in a person that we can not because we are influenced by our love and our hormones. Therefore, it is a wise thing to listen respectfully to one's parents advice. However, your boyfriend does have a point. The final decision about whether or not to get married must be between you and your boyfriend alone. That is not disrespect to your parents if you go ahead and get married without their blessing. Will be sad, but if you two prayerfully decide that you are meant to become husband and wife, then so be it. You owe your parents due respect and honor. You do not owe it to them to run your life on such a major decision. In fact, it would be wrong of you to do so. Please go to God on this, the both of you. Ask Him to make you receptive and obedient to His will. Ask Him to guide you into making the right decision.
