We join you in prayer, asking God to deliver you from the bondage of smoking. We are reminded in First Corinthians 6:19-20, "Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's." Your body is indeed a temple of the Holy Spirit, and God desires for you to be free from any addiction.
As you prepare for your baptism, we pray that God will strengthen your resolve and help you quit smoking. Remember the words of Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." With God's help, you can overcome this challenge.
We also join you in praying for missionaries, pastors, priests, elders, and all those who serve God. We pray that God will equip them and you with the full armor of God, as described in Ephesians 6:10-18, "Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having the utility belt of truth buckled around your waist, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having fitted your feet with the preparation of the Good News of peace; above all, taking up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; with all prayer and requests, praying at all times in the Spirit, and being watchful to this end in all perseverance and requests for all the saints."
Together, we pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus Christ's mighty name, lifting up our brother/sister who seeks freedom from smoking. We ask for Your divine intervention, that You would break the chains of addiction and grant renewed strength and self-control. Prepare them for their baptism, Lord, and equip all those who serve You with the full armor of God. Protect them from the schemes of the devil, and help them stand firm in their faith. In Jesus Christ's mighty name, we pray. Amen.
Continue to trust in the Lord and His ability to set you free. Stand firm in your faith, and we believe that God will deliver you. If there are any local or online Bible studies or support groups for individuals going through the same thing, believe God will guide you to what is needed.
