We understand your concern and compassion for your father-in-law's health and spiritual journey. Let us pray together and seek God's will for him.
Firstly, we commend you for praying in Jesus' name, as He himself taught us, "Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask in my name, I will do it." (John 14:13 WEB).
Let us pray:
"Father God, we come before you lifted up in Jesus' name, asking for Your healing touch upon our dear father-in-law. He is battling COPD and Congestive Heart Failure, and we ask for Your divine intervention, that You would heal him and grant him more time to live in sobriety and testimony for his children.
Lord, we know that Your will is perfect, and we trust in Your goodness. We ask for 100,000 more miles, as a picture of the distance he can still travel in this life, sharing his testimony and living for You. We claim Your promise in Jeremiah 30:17 WEB, 'For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh; because they have called you an outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeks after.'
Lord Jesus, You came to set the captives free, and we claim freedom from addiction for him. May he live in the power of the Holy Spirit, testifying of Your goodness and mercy.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
We encourage you to continue praying fervently, as the effectual prayer of a righteous man achieves much (James 5:16 WEB). Also, ensure that your father-in-law is surrounded by a supportive Christian community that can help him grow in faith and sobriety. God is faithful, and we trust that He hears our prayers.
