I notice something maybe some of you have noticed, too.Like when going through circumstances that don't benefit me, and if I would ask Gods help to get out of them, they may even get worse, like , the solution gets farther away, but the problem deepens. {And I heard of this with other Christians}The standard answer is, we're being tested, "tried".But to rub salt in the wound, (how many of you have seen this?},afterward we hear of plenty of unsaved people(some quite sinful) who, DO seem to "dodge bullets", and and either get what they want or avoid what they don't want.It seems God "goes easier" on the unsaved than the saved. We definitely go through more. How many of you have posted for months that you needed something, you didn't get it, but then you hear of some unsaved person gleefully telling everyone how what they wanted worked out beautifully?Something wrong.

My wife had cancer for 3 yrs. My wife and I continued to pray throughout. She was joyful throughout. She died 3 months back. I continue to pray because the bible tells me so.

The devil is our enemy and a liar, who will fight you in everything, don't give up!

I stand in agreement, the devil makes us believe that we are hopeless. But when we are down and at a loss of hope, that's when God reminds you He is with you! I've had things happen that didn't seem fair at the time, but you have to have faith. The way I see it, for every bad thing that happens, God will give you twice the goodness, for He is a glorious and giving Father.

Ok, but how about the second part of the question__how the unsaved seem to "dodge more bullets" than us?Like, in Texas, there are plenty of Christians, more so than in some of the more wordly other states. And, they always vote for conservative politicians, who don't back ungodly causes.Yet they got zapped by hurricane Harvey. Then there are states where most people vote for politicians who are for gay marriage and abortion, and might be into more sin than the Texans, but if a storm heads their way, it always diverts before getting there. It seems like "topsy turvy justice."

This is Satan world. It belongs to Satan and those who are unsaved aren't a threat to him. The ones who are saved  are a threat to Satan and he tries to make God look bad and uncaring. The sad reality is that the unsaved gets a free pass when it comes to Satan but in the end they end up losing because they never got saved.

Take Hurricane Harvey.. i live in Texas. I have heard people blame this on God. God created this storm to wipe us out. God gets blamed for everything and yet it isn't God who is creating the problems in the first place. That is exactly

what Satan wants. He wants people to think it is all Gods fault and turn their backs on him.

Another example: While i was in graduate school i had to work with this particular person pretty much through the whole 2 years. She was raised in church but turned her back on God and decided he wasn't real anymore. We had a lot of projects and papers we had to do together. I was up all night burning the midnight oil to get them done and she did pretty much nothing but party and have a good ole time. I had to do it because my grade and GPA was on the line. She got the benefit of the A in the class while doing nothing and yet she ended up with a nice paying job and i have to struggle.

To begin with, God has never promised us an easy life, but rather the exact opposite. The Bible says:

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. - Matthew 7:13-14

Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. - John 15:20

The life of a Christian is hard, filled with trials and tests, sorrows and tribulations. But that does not mean that we are without hope. The Bible says:

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. - Philippians 4:7

There is joy and a peace in serving God, because we know that God will never give us more then we can endure (1 Corinthians 10:13). Both the saved and the unsaved have problems, trials and tests, but the difference is that we know that God is in control, and that no matter what happens, if we keep on believing and trusting in God, one way or another, God will take care of us. The unsaved do not have this comfort.

Someone once said, "If I lose all my money, my health, and my belongings, but still have my faith, I have lost nothing. If I have all my money, my health and my belongings, but have lost my faith, then I truly have lost everything."

There are many reasons for our suffering, which include teaching us valuable lessons, drawing us closer to God, keeping us humble, teaching us compassion for others, etc.

You asked why when you (or others) pray, it seems that God doesn't answer, in fact, it seems like things just get worse. Sometimes things have to get worse before they can get better. Sometimes God has to break us in order to remake us. Like the potter, God is the potter, and we are the clay. In order for God to make something out of us, He has to chisel away our pride and our sins. The clay doesn't tell the potter how to shape the clay, the clay yields to the potter's hands. In the same way, we must yield to the hands of God as He shapes and remakes us, because we know that He does everything for our own good.

You also asked why God punishes us more then He punishes the unsaved. The Bible says,

And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more. - Luke 12:47-48

Well...I appreciate that you answered also the second part of  the question, why the sinful ones get their way.The ones saying Harvey was a judgement on Texas I suspect are the "liberals" who don't like conservative people in  Texas, and they're smug that Christians are "closed minded "etc. But some Christians, also, say when running into problems God is" testing" us .Texas is  an example of your point, there are probably more Christians in Texas, and and yet some states that vote for politicians that are for gay marriage and abortion,  problems  like that seem to elude them.

This is one of the most difficult questions in all of theology. God is eternal, infinite, omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent. Why should human beings (not eternal, infinite, omniscient, omnipresent, or omnipotent) expect to be able to fully understand God’s ways? The book of Job deals with this issue. God had allowed Satan to do everything he wanted to Job except kill him. What was Job’s reaction? “Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him” (Job 13:15). “The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised” (Job 1:21). Job did not understand why God had allowed the things He did, but he knew God was good and therefore continued to trust in Him. Ultimately, that should be our reaction as well.

Why do bad things happen to good people? The biblical answer is there are no “good” people. The Bible makes it abundantly clear that all of us are tainted by and infected with sin (Ecclesiastes 7:20; Romans 3:23; 1 John 1:8). Romans 3:10-18 could not be clearer about the non-existence of “good” people: “There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one. Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit. The poison of vipers is on their lips. Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness. Their feet are swift to shed blood; ruin and misery mark their ways, and the way of peace they do not know. There is no fear of God before their eyes.” Every human being on this planet deserves to be thrown into hell at this very moment. Every second we spend alive is only by the grace and mercy of God. Even the most terrible misery we could experience on this planet is merciful compared to what we deserve, eternal hell in the lake of fire.

A better question would be “Why does God allow good things to happen to bad people?” Romans 5:8 declares, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Despite the evil, wicked, sinful nature of the people of this world, God still loves us. He loved us enough to die to take the penalty for our sins (Romans 6:23). If we receive Jesus Christ as Savior (John 3:16; Romans 10:9), we will be forgiven and promised an eternal home in heaven (Romans 8:1). What we deserve is hell. What we are given is eternal life in heaven if we come to Christ in faith.

Yes, sometimes bad things happen to people who seem undeserving of them. But God allows things to happen for His reasons, whether or not we understand them. Above all, however, we must remember that God is good, just, loving, and merciful. Often things happen to us that we simply cannot understand. However, instead of doubting God's goodness, our reaction should be to trust Him. ”Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5-6).

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Both questions of why good happens to those who are bad and vice versa refer to what seems to be the perplexing injustice we witness every day. The 73rd Psalm is our answer to the very same questions that also tormented the psalmist. Finding himself in terrible distress and agony of soul he writes, “But as for me, my feet had almost slipped; I had nearly lost my foothold. For I envied the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked” (Psalm 73:2-3).The writer of this Psalm was a man named Asaph, a leader of one of the temple choirs. Obviously, he was not a wealthy man, but rather one who had dedicated his life to serving God (see 1 Chronicles 25). But, like us, he had experienced some difficulties and questioned the injustice of it all. He watched the evil people around him living by their own rules, enjoying all the wealth and pleasures of the world and collecting riches. He complains, "They have no struggles; their bodies are healthy and strong. They are free from the burdens common to man; they are not plagued by human ills" (Psalm 73:4-5).Asaph was looking at these people who didn't have problems. They could pay their bills. They had plenty to eat and plenty of luxuries. But poor Asaph was stuck with directing the choir and trying to live godly. And to make things worse, his choice to serve God didn't seem to be helping him. He began to envy these people and even to question God as to why He would allow such a thing to happen! How often do we find ourselves relating to Asaph? We dedicate our lives to serving God. Then we witness the wicked, ungodly people around us get new possessions, luxurious homes, promotions, and beautiful clothes, while we struggle financially. The answer lies in the rest of the psalm. Asaph envied these evil people until he realized one very important thing. When he entered the sanctuary of God, he fully understood their final destiny: “When I tried to understand all this, it was oppressive to me till I entered the sanctuary of God; then I understood their final destiny. Surely you place them on slippery ground; you cast them down to ruin. How suddenly are they destroyed, completely swept away by terrors! As a dream when one awakes, so when you arise, O Lord, you will despise them as fantasies” (Psalm 73:16-20). Those who have temporary riches on earth are in reality spiritual beggars because they do not have true riches—eternal life. There are many times when we do not understand what is happening to us, nor do we understand how providence works. When Asaph entered the sanctuary of God, he began to see that there was no need for him to be envious of the prosperity of the wicked because their prosperity is an illusion. He began to comprehend that the ancient deceiver, Satan, had used lies to distract him from the reality of God. Upon entering the sanctuary, Asaph realized that prosperity is a fleeting fulfillment, like a pleasant dream that pleases us only for a little while but, when we awaken, we realize it was not real. Asaph rebukes himself for his own stupidity. He admits to being “senseless and ignorant” to envy the wicked or to be jealous of the perishing. His thoughts then returned to his own happiness in God when he realized how much more joy, fulfillment, and true spiritual prosperity he had in the Creator. We may not have everything we want here on earth, but we will one day prosper for all eternity through Jesus Christ our Lord. Whenever we are tempted to try the other road, we should remember that the other road is a dead end (Matthew 7:13). But the narrow road before us through Jesus is the only road that leads to eternal life. That should be our joy and our comfort. “Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. Those who are far from you will perish; you destroy all who are unfaithful to you. But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge . . .” (Psalm 73:2527-28)We need not concern ourselves when good things seem to happen to bad people. We only need to keep our focus on our Creator and enter into His presence every day through the portal of His holy Word. There we will find truth, contentment, spiritual riches, and eternal joy.
