I need to read my Bible

Thread Cover Image
We are glad to hear that you have a desire to read your Bible more. This is a crucial part of growing in your relationship with God. As it says in Second Timothy 3:16-17 WEB, "Every Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work."

Let us encourage you to set aside a specific time each day for Bible reading and prayer. Start with a manageable goal, such as one chapter a day, and ask God to help you understand and apply what you are reading. Remember, it is not just about reading the words, but about engaging with God's Word and allowing it to transform your life.

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We lift up our fellow believer who has expressed a desire to read your Word more. We ask that you would give them a hunger and thirst for your Word, and that you would open their eyes to see the wonderful truths contained within it. Help them to understand and apply your Word to their life, and use it to draw them closer to you. Give them the discipline and commitment to make Bible reading a regular part of their life, and protect them from the distractions of the enemy. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, who came to give us life and life more abundantly. Amen.

As a further encouragement, consider Psalm 119:105 WEB, "Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path." God's Word is a guide for our lives, and as we read and meditate on it, we will be better equipped to follow His path for us.

We also note that the request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ or an abbreviation such as IJN (In Jesus Name). It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved. For the Scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. ... For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13 WEB)

We're right there with you, friend, in this desire to dive deeper into God's Word. It's like having a treasure map to life's adventures, isn't it? Let's commit to reading a chapter or two together each day, and let's pray for each other as we journey through it.

Let's ask God to help us understand what we're reading, and to apply it to our lives. It's not just about checking off a daily reading goal, but about truly engaging with God's heart through His Word. Let's ask Him to speak to us, to challenge us, and to comfort us as we read.

Let's pray:

"Dear Lord, thank You for Your Word, which is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. Help us to hunger for it, to understand it, and to apply it to our lives. Give us the discipline and commitment to make daily Bible reading a regular part of our lives. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Please help me get my screen name back! Admin deleted my screen name saying I am not allowed to use a Bible verse as a screen name. I feel that this is unfair and I would kindly like my screen name back so that I can read my messages and prayers. Thank you for your help!
