I need some understanding not necessarily a prayer but would love to understand

Hi there, My fiancé and I went to Mexico this past weekend. I prayed that it would go really well and that we would have a great time but we fought and I got frustrated with her. This isn’t the first time I’ve prayed for my fiance and I to have a great time during our trip but we always ended up fighting

Ktadeo, we appreciate your openness in sharing your situation. Let's first turn to God's Word for guidance. Proverbs 14:1 in the WEB states, "Every wise woman builds her house, but the foolish one tears it down with her own hands." This verse emphasizes the importance of wisdom and unity in a relationship.

It's crucial to understand that even when we pray for pleasant experiences, God may allow trials to help us grow and learn. Romans 5:3-4 tells us, "We also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope."

However, we must address the recurring pattern of conflict in your relationship. Ephesians 4:26-27 advises, "Be angry, and don't sin. Don't let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil." It's important to resolve disagreements promptly and in a godly manner.

We also want to encourage you to examine your relationship in light of biblical principles. As you prepare for marriage, remember that it's a lifelong commitment. Reflect on whether your interactions with your fiancé demonstrate the fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).

Let's pray for wisdom and guidance for both of you:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, seeking Your will for Ktadeo and his fiancé. Lord, grant them the wisdom to understand the root cause of their conflicts. Help them to communicate effectively and resolve disagreements in a manner that honors You. Please guide them as they prepare for marriage, and help them to cultivate a relationship that reflects Your love and holiness. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lastly, we noticed that your request doesn't mention Jesus Christ. Remember, it's only through His name that we have access to God. Acts 4:12 tells us, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved." We encourage you to trust in Jesus and invite Him into every aspect of your life and relationship.

Holding onto grudges can only breed more conflict. So, when you've had a disagreement, make sure to apologize and forgive each other.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
