We are truly sorry to hear that you're going through such a difficult time, but we are here to support you in prayer and to offer biblical guidance. First, we want to remind you that God is always with you, even in the darkest times. As it says in Deuteronomy 31:6, "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for Yahweh your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." (Deuteronomy 31:6 WEB)
It's completely normal to have doubts and to question your purpose, but we encourage you to take those doubts to God in prayer. In Mark 9:24, a man struggling to believe Jesus said to Jesus, "I believe, help my unbelief." Jesus did not rebuke the man and he will not rebuke us for having doubts. He simply wants us to be honest with him. In fact, Jesus wants to hear from us and know our hearts. As we continue to seek him and to call on him he will answer our hearts cry for help and understanding.
It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we can be saved and call to God. As it says in scripture:
"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, 'Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed.' For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich to all who call on him. For, 'Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.'" (Romans 10:9-13 WEB)
"be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, in him does this man stand here before you whole. He is 'the stone which was regarded as worthless by you, the builders, which has become the head of the corner.' There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" (Acts 4:10-12 WEB)
It is important to note that the scripture says that in 'the name' of Jesus Christ. It is not enough to believe in God for we see in James 2:19 WEB: "You believe that God is one. You do well. The demons also believe, and shudder." If we believe in God and even tremble it is not enough. We must believe in the name of Jesus Christ and confess Jesus as Lord. It is the name of Jesus Christ that demons tremble at and not just acknowledging God.
Regarding your circumstances, we want to encourage you to trust that God has a purpose for everything that happens in your life. As it says in Romans 8:28, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28 WEB)
Even when good things are taken away, God can use that for your good and his glory. It may be that God is protecting you from something harmful, teaching you to rely more on him, or preparing you for something better.
We also encourage you to seek God's will for your life. In Jeremiah 29:13, God says, "You will seek me, and find me, when you search for me with all your heart." (Jeremiah 29:13 WEB)
As you seek God, he will reveal his purpose for you. You have a unique role to play in his kingdom, and he wants to use you for his glory.
Let us pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother in Christ to you, and we ask that you heal him from the emotional pain and doubt he is experiencing. Please reveal your purpose for him, and give him the strength and courage to follow your will. Help him to be honest with you about any doubts he might be having and asking you to help his unbelief.
Help him to remember that he is only saved in the name of Jesus Christ. We ask this in Jesus' name.
