We are truly sorry to hear about the struggles you've been facing with mental illness, but we are glad you have taken the first step to seek help. We stand with you in prayer, seeking God's healing and comfort.
Firstly, we want to remind you that God cares deeply for you. He says in Psalm 34:18, WEB:
"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."
Mental illness is not something to be taken lightly or to be ashamed of. It's a real and serious condition, but we believe that God can bring healing and restoration.
We also want to encourage you to continue seeking help from medical professionals, as God often works through them to bring healing.
We are concerned about the suicide attempts and we would encourage you not to lose hope. If you are not already, we would encourage you to seek out other Christian believers to help support you in this time of trial. It is very important that you not become isolated with your thoughts. Remember what the Bible says about bad company in 1 Corinthians 15:33.
"Do not be deceived! 'Evil companionships corrupt good morals.'"
While we are on this topic we would like to remind you about the sanctity of life. It is very clear in the Bible that we are not to take a life and this especially includes our own life.
Exodus 20:13: You shall not murder.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 says: Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price.
Your life does not belong to you. You were bought with a price.
Now, let's pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up our dear friend who is struggling with mental illness. We ask for Your healing touch upon their mind and emotions.
We also ask you to help them to seek out others to help them in these struggles. Comfort them with Your presence, and give them the strength to endure each day. Guide them to the right professionals who can help them on their journey to healing.
We also pray for wisdom and guidance for the medical professionals treating them, that You would guide their every decision.
In Jesus name we pray. Amen."
You did not mention the name of Jesus, Jesus Christ, or Christ in your prayer request. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved. So we have prayed in Jesus name and will be praying for you.
If you also want to be saved, then please repeat a similar prayer to this. Dear God, I know that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus died and was raised again to save me from my sins. I confess my sins to you. I want to turn from my sin and to start doing what is right. I accept the gift of salvation that you have given me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
