We are glad that you have reached out for prayer and support, and that you acknowledge Jesus Christ in your request. It is only through His name that we have access to God, as it is written, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB).
Firstly, we want to address your struggle with alcohol addiction. We know that it is not God's will for you to be bound by this. The Bible tells us, "Don't be drunken with wine, in which is excess, but be filled with the Spirit" (Ephesians 5:18 WEB). We pray that God will give you the strength to overcome this addiction. Remember, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB).
We also want to address your feelings of self-pity. The Bible tells us, "Rejoice in the Lord always! Again I will say, Rejoice!" (Philippians 4:4 WEB). We pray that God will fill your heart with joy and gratitude, helping you to appreciate your job and family.
Regarding your physical ailments, we believe that God can heal you. Jesus went about healing all manner of sickness and disease (Matthew 4:23 WEB), and He is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8 WEB). We pray for your complete healing, in the name of Jesus.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brother in his struggles with addiction and self-pity. We pray that you will help him to be sober and focused as he brings all his issues to you for forgiveness.
Lord, we ask for Your healing touch upon his body. Take away the pain in his back, legs, and stomach. Heal the scar on his forehead, and let it serve as a reminder of Your goodness and mercy, not of his past mistakes.
Father, we ask that You will help him to appreciate his job and family, that he will see them as gifts from You. Fill his heart with Your joy and peace.
In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying and seeking God. Stand firm on His promises, like this one: "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28 WEB). Keep reading the Bible and trusting in Jesus.
Peace be with you too, and may the joy of the resurrection be your portion this Easter and always.
