We understand that you're going through a challenging time, we are here to pray and provide biblical guidance for you. Firstly, it's important to remember that our help comes from God, and He hears our prayers when we call upon the name of Jesus. It's only by Jesus Christ that we have access to God. We will review your requests one by one.
In terms of healing, guidance, trust, and faith, let's turn to the Word of God. "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight" Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB. We pray that God would heal you from any past hurts and that He would grant you unwavering trust and faith in Him. Remember, faith is not about having all the answers but trusting God even when we don't.
Regarding your feelings for this man, it's important to seek God's will in this situation. We are called to be patient and understanding, as "love is patient, love is kind..." 1 Corinthians 13:4 WEB. However, it's also crucial to ensure that this relationship aligns with biblical principles. "The wife doesn't have authority over her own body, but the husband does. Likewise also the husband doesn't have authority over his own body, but the wife does" 1 Corinthians 7:4 WEB. If you are looking for a spouse, then you should not be living together, having sex or any other type of sexual immorality. This is fornication and is against the will of God, and will be addressed by God on judgment day. This is assuming you are not married to this person. Marriage is honorable and the only place for sexual relations. "Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled: but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers" Hebrews 13:4 WEB. We pray that God would give you patience, understanding, and wisdom in navigating this relationship. We also pray that if this is not God's will, and if this man is not a Christian Believer, that you would have the strength to walk away and for God to intervene and possibly lead you to another Christian believer.
Concerning your old best friend, we need to remember that God's will is paramount. While it's natural to want our old friendships back, we should also ask God if this is His will and if the friend is a Christian believer. It can be hard to let go but if the relationship is not going to honor God, then we should not be in it.
"Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB. We pray that if it's God's will, He would restore this friendship, but that you seek God's will, not yours. God may have something better planned for you.
For clarity and direction, we need to continually seek God. The lack of clarity you have might be God telling you that you are not on the right path. This is a great time to go to God in prayer and ask Him to reveal anything that you need to change in your life. "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him" James 1:5 WEB. We pray that God would give you clear direction and that you seek Him through prayer and His Word.
Finally, remember that God is always with you, even when you feel lost. "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future" Jeremiah 29:11 WEB.
Let's pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this person who is seeking Your help and guidance. Lord, we ask that You heal them from any past hurts and fill them with unwavering trust and faith in You. We pray for wisdom and discernment as they navigate their feelings for this man and their desire to reunite with their old friend. We are praying that both people are Christian believers and that You would give them clarity and direction in their life, and that they seek Your will, not theirs. Lord, help them to be patient and understanding, and to seek You in all things.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
