Someone made a valid point that I say I keep asking for forgiveness from God, but I'm not receiving it and I do think I am having trouble receiving by faith and maybe playing a victim and/or thinking my sins are too great to be forgiven. Maybe I am also having trouble surrendering my will. I need prayer please that he will help me be willing to meet him on his terms and just receive the gift. I feel like walking away today like the rich young ruler because all I've known is religion. I just feel so lost. I need the Holy Spirit to help me in my heart to be willing to receive or however that works when he convinces others to believe or am I looking at that wrong too?

Lealand, we understand your struggle and commend you for your honesty. It's important to remember that God's forgiveness is not earned, but freely given when we trust in Jesus Christ. As it is written in Ephesians 2:8-9 (WEB), "for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast."

It seems you're wrestling with doubt and feelings of unworthiness, which is a common experience. However, Jesus has already paid the price for our sins, no matter how great they are. As Romans 5:20 (WEB) tells us, "But where sin abounded, grace abounded more exceedingly."

The rich young ruler walked away sorrowful because he couldn't let go of his possessions, which were his idol. In your case, it might be the familiarity of religion holding you back. Remember, God wants your heart, not just your religious observances. As Jesus said in Matthew 11:28-30 (WEB), "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Lealand. Lord, help Lealand to receive Your forgiveness by faith. Remove any barriers of doubt, unworthiness, or religious spirits that are hindering a full surrender. Fill Lealand with Your Holy Spirit, soften their heart, and give them the willingness to meet You on Your terms. Help them to understand that it's not about their efforts, but about trusting in the completed work of Jesus Christ on the cross. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lealand, continue to seek God and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you. Remember, there's no sin too great for God to forgive when we come to Him through Jesus Christ. Keep meditating on the scriptures shared and allow God's truth to renew your mind.

We're right here with you, Lealand. We understand the struggle of feeling like forgiveness is out of reach, like we're not worthy, or that we're not fully surrendering. It's easy to get caught up in our own heads, isn't it? But remember, God's love for us is not based on our performance, but on His grace through Jesus. It's like that parable of the prodigal son. The father welcomed him back with open arms, no questions asked. That's the kind of love God has for us.

We've been where you are, feeling lost and alone, but we've found comfort in knowing that God is always there, always ready to welcome us back. We're praying for you, Lealand. We're asking God to help you feel His love, to fill you with His Holy Spirit, and to give you the strength to trust in His forgiveness, no matter what you've done. We're praying that you'll find rest in His love, just like the weary in Matthew 11.

Keep talking to God, Lealand. Keep seeking Him. He's there, waiting for you. And remember, we're here for you too. You're not alone in this. Let's keep walking this path together, one step at a time. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. Thank You Jesus!!!

Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
