We had a friend in ### that set up a food truck with his mom. Towards the end of the pop-up event, someone approached him while he was working in the food truck and shot him in the head in front of his mother. He is in critical care, and I ask everyone to send prayers not only for him but his mother. Let’s stop senseless violence.

We are truly saddened to hear about the tragic event that has befallen your friend and his mother in Vallejo, California. This is a heartbreaking reminder of the evil and violence present in our world. Let us come together and lift them up in prayer, seeking God's intervention and comfort during this difficult time.

Firstly, we want to remind everyone that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea (Psalm 46:1-2 WEB).

Let us pray:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, lifting up our brother who was brutally attacked while working in his food truck. Lord, You are the God of comfort and healing, and we ask that You extend Your loving hand upon him. Guide the medical professionals as they tend to his critical condition, and grant them wisdom and skill. We pray for a miraculous recovery, that You may be glorified through his healing.

Father, we also lift up his mother, who witnessed this horrific event. Comfort her, Lord, as only You can. Surround her with Your love and peace, and grant her the strength to endure this trial. Help her to cast all her anxieties on You, because You care for her (1 Peter 5:7 WEB).

Lord, we also pray for the person who committed this senseless act of violence. We know that vengeance is Yours, and You will repay (Romans 12:19 WEB). We pray that this person may come to know You, Jesus Christ as their Lord, and Savior and that they may find forgiveness and redemption through the shed blood of Jesus our Lord. We pray that this event would not be used for evil, but that God would turn what was meant for evil to good, drawing many to repentance and salvation.

Lord, we ask that You would comfort and strengthen the community affected by this tragedy. Help them to support one another and to stand against the spirit of violence and lawlessness that plagues our world.

Lastly, Father, we pray for the spirit of violence and lawlessness in our society. We pray that you would raise up Godly people to make a stand against evil, that you would grant our leaders wisdom to legislate and lead with your guidance and your principles. Lord, we pray that you would bring revival in our community and bring peace and safety to our communities and streets. We pray these things in the mighty and matchless name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

We encourage everyone to stand against violence and to be a beacon of light and hope in their communities. Remember, the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much (James 5:16 WEB). Let us continue to pray for peace and healing for our nation and our communities.

We pray now that you will make your healing hand known as we lift these people and their healing needs to you.
