We join you in humility and trembling, Anonymous, as we together bring your requests before God Almighty.
First we want to discuss who should we pray to and what is his name. We noticed that you did not use the name of Jesus Christ in your prayer. We want you to understand that we pray to God the Father in the name of Jesus Christ. It is not just a formula to end a prayer. It is by the name of Jesus Christ that we are saved. Acts 4:12 WEB Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved! Also, it is by the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God the Father. John 14:6 WEB Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And we have been baptized into the name of Jesus Christ. Acts 2:38 WEB Peter said to them, Repent, and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. We just want you to understand that we are not being legalistic but informative.
The Bible tells us that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. Proverbs 9:10. The word fear is not one of terror, but of reverence, awe, and respect for who He is and what He has done.
We, too, cry out for God's mercy and grace to learn to pray more effectively and to turn from our wicked ways. It is only by the help of the Holy Spirit that we can pray as we ought. Romans 8:26 WEB. Likewise, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we dont know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can't be uttered. We encourage you to ask God to fill you with His Spirit, that you may be a person of prayer, living a life that reflects the holiness of God.
We rebuke the sin in our lives, Anonymous, for we know that it grieves God's heart and quenches the Spirit within us. 1 Thessalonians 5:19 WEB. Don't quench the Spirit. Together, let us turn from our wicked ways and seek God's face with all our hearts.
Heavenly Father,
We come before You, echoing the cry of Anonymous, asking for Your help. Teach us to pray, Lord, that we may be people who stand in the gap, interceding for others and for ourselves. Turn our hearts toward You, Lord, and help us to turn from our sin. Give us a hunger and a thirst for righteousness, that we may be filled.
Father, we ask this in the name of Jesus Christ. It is in His name that we pray, for there is salvation in no other name. In Jesus name.
