We are truly sorry to hear about your struggles and the challenges you're facing. First and foremost, we want to remind you that there is hope and forgiveness in Jesus Christ. It's important to acknowledge that the issues raised need a Biblical truth and worldview foundation. You mentioned prayers for forgiveness which will only come through Jesus Christ. Forgiveness comes only through the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ as the unblemished Lamb of God. His death, burial, and resurrection is the only true source of eternal salvation and all things are possible through faith in Him.
The Bible tells us, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB. This means that we should turn to God in all aspects of our lives, including our finances and personal struggles.
Regarding the gambling. Gambling has been legalized by the government so it seems to imply legitimacy. It has been around for over 5000 years. Casinos are now designed to use the combination of money and your own greed to increase the pleasure sensors in the brain and keep you addicted. The distractions and lights are overwhelming by design. It is written in First Timothy 6:9-10 WEB But those who are determined to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, such as drown men in destruction and ruin. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows. Also Hebrews 13:5 WEB Let your conduct be without covetousness, and be content with whatever things you have. For the Lord himself has said, I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you. These verses state that a self greedy lifestyle will lead you into a place of being ensnared, lust, destruction, and ultimately ruin. Notice that the scriptures do not say money is the root of all evil. The love of money, greed, is the root of all kinds of evil. So we are to stay away from these places and not be self greedy. There is nothing wrong with money, it is the love of it that is wrong.
Moreover, the Bible warns us against the dangers of greed and the love of money. It is written in 1 Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows. Gambling often stems from a desire for easy money, which can lead to financial ruin and spiritual decay. It's crucial to seek God's guidance and strength to overcome this addiction.
Let's pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up this dear mother of two who is struggling with financial difficulties, a gambling addiction, and the impending loss of her grandmother. Lord, we ask for Your forgiveness and mercy upon her life. We pray that You would grant her strength and wisdom to overcome her addiction and guide her through her financial challenges and depression. We know that Your grace can heal and restore all things.
We ask for forgiveness of her sins of greed and selfishness. She needs You to guide her out of this dark mess.
Lord, we also pray for her grandmother, that You would comfort her and be with her in her final days. We pray that You would give her peace and surround her with Your love.
Father, we ask that You would come into her life and make Your presence known. Help her to gain her life back and restore her relationship with You. Guide her through the troubled waters of life and grant her new life in Christ Jesus.
May she turn away from her past mistakes, seek forgiveness through the blood of Christ, and move forward in a life free from debt and sin. May she pray in Jesus' name and believe in her heart that He is the only way.
We pray this in Jesus Christ's name, Amen.
Remember, it is written in Romans 10:9-11 WEB: because, if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, Whoever believes on Him will not be disappointed.
Stay strong in the Lord and turn to Him in all your ways. He is faithful and will see you through this difficult time. Take comfort in the words of Psalm 46:1 WEB God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
