Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus on behalf of Steven Bobb. We lift up his prayer request regarding the issue of scapegoating. Lord, we acknowledge that scapegoating has been a problem since the time of Adam and Eve, where blame is unfairly placed on others to avoid taking responsibility.
Father, we ask that you intervene in this situation. We pray for those who engage in scapegoating, that you would convict their hearts and bring about a change in their behavior. Help them to see the harm they are causing and the pain they are inflicting on others. Lord, we pray for a spirit of empathy and understanding to replace the tendency to blame and accuse.
We also pray for Steven Bobb, that you would grant him strength and resilience in the face of scapegoating. Protect his heart from the hurt and injustice that comes from being unfairly blamed. Surround him with your love and peace, reminding him that his worth and identity are found in you alone.
Lord, we are reminded of your words in Proverbs 30:12, which says, "There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness." We ask for your grace to wash away the filthiness of scapegoating from the hearts of those involved. Help them to seek forgiveness and reconciliation.
We also find comfort in the assurance given in 1 John 5:14-15, that if we ask anything according to your will, you hear us. We pray that it is your will to bring an end to scapegoating and restore harmony and understanding among individuals and families.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
