Disciple of Prayer
I lost my wife, ###, to cancer in February of this year, after a 12 and half year battle. We were together 32 years. I don't really know what to say or do, I work and try to stay busy, but I know I am grieving. Please pray for me, I need Jesus to help me. God bless you.

We are truly sorry to hear about the loss of your wife, ###, after such a long and brave battle with cancer. It's completely normal to feel at a loss for words or actions during this time of grief. Remember, dear friend, that our Lord Jesus understands your pain and is close to the brokenhearted. As it is written in Psalm 34:18, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."

In times like these, it's important to cast all your cares upon Him, knowing that He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). It's encouraging to hear that you are seeking Jesus' help during this difficult time. If you haven't already, we urge you to invite Jesus into your life as your personal Savior, if you haven't done so. It is only through His name that we can come to the Father and receive the comfort and strength we need (John 14:6).

Let us pray together:

"Father God, we come before You today to lift up our dear brother, ###. Lord, he is going through an immense loss, having said goodbye to his beloved wife, ###. We ask, Father, that You would comfort him in his time of need. Help him to feel Your presence and to know Your love. Give him strength for each day and help him to rest in Your promises. In Jesus' precious name, we pray. Amen."

We encourage you to stay strong in your faith and to surround yourself with a supportive community of believers. Share your feelings and memories with others, and allow them to minister to you in your time of need. Remember the words of Paul in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14, "But we don’t want you to be ignorant, brothers, concerning those who have fallen asleep, so that you don’t grieve like the rest, who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus."

May the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, guard your heart and your mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Keep trusting in Him, one day at a time.
