I suffer inside, feel bad about myself for years and still do. I cannot forgive me and think about the lie a lot. Even though I have prayed and asked forgiveness from God, I still feel terrible and cannot forgive myself or tell anyone because I feel really ashamed and don't like me.

We understand that you're carrying a heavy burden from a lie you told long ago, and it's causing you ongoing pain and shame. First, let's remember what the WEB says in 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

It's important to note that you've already taken the crucial step of confessing your sin to God and seeking His forgiveness. God has forgiven you, but now you must also forgive yourself. Remember, God's Word tells us in Psalm 103:12, "As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us."

However, your inability to forgive yourself and the continued shame you feel may indicate that you haven't fully accepted God's forgiveness. It's also possible that you haven't fully grasped the basic salvation message of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

It is only by the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God. Let's reflect on Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." This means that our salvation, our forgiveness, and our righteousness come from Jesus Christ alone. Trust and have faith in Jesus Christ. If you have not yet come to Jesus by faith and confessed Him as Lord and Savior, do so today!

The fact is, God does not want you to continue living in shame and self-condemnation. In Romans 8:1, we read, "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don't walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit."

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You, lifting up our fellow believer who is struggling to forgive themself for a past sin. Lord, You have already forgiven them, and we ask that You help them to accept Your forgiveness and forgive themselves. Help them to overcome the shame and self-condemnation they feel, and help them to understand their belief in the forgiveness of sins that is provided for us by the blood of Jesus Christ. Please, Lord, heal their heart and help them to live in the freedom that You intend for all Your children. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lastly, consider sharing your burden with a trusted Christian friend, mentor, or pastor. Confessing to another believer can help you experience the fullness of God's forgiveness and find healing from the shame you're carrying. As James 5:16 tells us, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."

We're here with you, and we understand that carrying this burden of guilt and shame is incredibly heavy. It's like you're stuck in a dark room, unable to see the light that God's already switched on for you. You've taken the first step by confessing to God, and that's a powerful thing. But now, it's time to let that light in, to accept God's forgiveness fully, and to forgive yourself.

Remember, God doesn't just forgive us; He forgets our sins (Isaiah 43:25). That's a promise. He's not up there keeping a scoreboard, ticking off our mistakes. He's wiped the slate clean. It's like that lie you told never happened in His eyes. That's the beauty of His grace.

We want you to know that God sees you, not as the person you were when you told that lie, but as the person you are in Christ now. You're His beloved child, and He's proud of you. He's not disappointed or ashamed of you. That's why He sent Jesus to die on the cross, so that you could be forgiven and have a relationship with Him.

Let's pray together:

"Dear God, we come to You today, carrying our ###'s burden. Lord, You know the lie she told, the shame she feels, and the pain she's carrying. We ask that You would remind her of Your unfailing love, Your unending forgiveness, and Your unchanging nature. Help her to see herself through Your eyes, to accept Your forgiveness fully, and to forgive herself. Help her to walk in the freedom and light that You've already provided. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

I wanted to commit suicide once, I even came up with a plan. Right before I headed out the door I posted a prayer on here and hoping there might be help from God one last time I opened the Bible and only read take no thought for your life. I read that before at least 100 times but never really could understand how. This time I took it to heart, all right God I will end my life by not thinking about it. I take no thought, I take no thought, I take no thought over and over and over again I take no thought was my only thought that day. All of a sudden I noticed something, Jesus showed up, all my pains were gone, no neck ache, no back pain, no leg pain from many many accidents I had over the years and no pain in my heart as my wife had left me. I started singing praises and thanks to Jesus and my life has never been the same. It is our obedience to God from His Holy Instructions that makes a difference to His Power of His Promises in our lives.

Be a doer of Jesus friend, it really makes a difference! Thank You Lord Jesus!

Search the Bible for Jesus' Promises friend, do them and claim them in Jesus! Amen! Thank You Lord Jesus!

Powerful healing promise hidden in Proverbs 3:7-8, I am not wise in my own eyes, I fear You Lord, I depart from evil, especially my own evil thoughts and my flesh is healed and my body is refreshed in Jesus.

Lord make me the Child of God You need me to be in Christ for all those around me and for the world to see (Psalms 128:3). Not by my might, nor by my power, but by Your Spirt Christ Jesus (Zechariah 4:6) this shall happen. And it will happen, it is happening now in Your timing, Power, Strength, Might, and Spirit, Christ Jesus. God all that I have asked of you in this prayer please do the same for all those I love, care about, and every faithful prayer warrior on this site. Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. We continue to lift you up in prayer, dear brother or sister, and we are truly honored that you have allowed us to stand in the gap with you. We have been interceding on your behalf, asking God to heal the wounds of your past and to release you from the burden of shame and guilt that you have been carrying.

If you have experienced a breakthrough and have started to feel the healing power of God's forgiveness, we would love for you to share your praise report with us all. Your testimony could encourage others who are going through similar struggles.
