We rejoice with you, dear friend, in hearing your good news! The Lord has heard our prayers and has delivered you from your abusive situation. We give all the glory to God, for He is faithful and just to deliver us from evil. Let us remember the words of Psalm 34:17-18, "The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, thanking You for Your faithfulness and mercy. We praise You for delivering our friend from an abusive situation and bringing them safely home. We pray for Your healing power to restore their heart, mind, and soul. Help them to overcome any lingering fear, trauma, or anxiety as a result of this situation. Equip them with Your strength and guide them through Your Holy Spirit. If there is any hidden sin in their heart, reveal it to them that they may repent and be forgiven. If they have not believed in Jesus Christ then reveal that he is the only way. There should not have been a successful request without using His name. We have access to the father only through the name of Jesus Christ, the forgiveness of our sins, and the defeated foe. There is no other name by which we can be saved. Lord, we ask that You surround them with godly counsel and support, and help them to move forward in Your will for their life. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you do not be a victim to abusive relationships. You deserve to be loved and treated with kindness and deference. The only liquid that should flow in a relationship is the water of life not blood from physical abuse. If there is not forgiveness, then there is not love. If there is not love, then there is not God in the relationship. Consider the words of Ephesians 5:28-29; "...husbands ought... to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself. We do not have a man hating his own flesh; but: So then they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate." The man is here because the biblical design of a marriage is between a man and a woman. Not a woman and a woman, or a man and a man, but a man and a woman. Notice it does not say a woman hating her own flesh. It does not mean to stay in an abusive relationship. It means the love relationship should be different from the norm. We see these physical attributes and conclude properly there is a soul and spirit of the relationship. We strongly discourage intimate relationships with those who may try to lure you back into sin or harm you, but rather seek godly relationships that honor God and build you up in Him. May God's will be done in your life, and may He continue to guide and protect you.
About using the name of Jesus, it is very important. There is no person in history, place, or imaginings that can heal, cure, forgive, and anything but cause problems or no results. For instance, John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" We have to pray in Jesus' name to have any access to God. Now concerning salvation, there is no other name by which we can be saved. This is explained in Acts 4:12. "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
