Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brother Dogmeios and his deep concern for the conditions that Afghanistani women and children are enduring. Lord, we acknowledge that you are a God of compassion and justice, and we ask that you intervene in their lives and bring about positive change.
On February 1st, as Dogmeios has requested, we join together in a day of fasting and prayer specifically for these women who are suffering. We believe in the power of fasting and prayer, as it is written in your Word, "I urge then first of all that petitions, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made for all people" . We intercede on behalf of these women, lifting them up to you and asking for your divine intervention in their lives.
Lord, we ask that you touch the hearts of those in authority, both in Afghanistan and around the world, that they may take action to alleviate the suffering of these women and children. We pray for peace and quiet lives for them, as it is written, "for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness" .
We also take comfort in the story of Elijah, where you revealed that there were still faithful ones who had not bowed to false gods. We pray that you would raise up advocates and helpers for these Afghanistani women, just as you preserved a remnant in Israel, as it is written, "Yet I have reserved seven thousand in Israel, all whose knees have not bowed to Baal and every mouth that has not kissed him" .
Lord, we lay aside our own needs and religious beliefs for this day of fasting and prayer, focusing solely on the needs of these suffering women and their children. We ask for your mercy, healing, and provision in their lives. May they experience your love, comfort, and protection in the midst of their hardships.
We thank you, Lord, for hearing our prayers and for your faithfulness to bring about change. We trust in your sovereignty and believe that you can make a difference in the lives of these Afghanistani women. May your will be done, and may your kingdom come in their lives.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
