I have been absent in my marriage for some time now. I had an affair 3 years ago which has sent me in a terrible direction. I struggle with the desire to have my pre-marriage lifestyle back which consisted of alcohol and random women. My wife helped pull me out of that life 17 years ago, and now I may be resenting her for it. I have been distancing myself from God and the emotional intimacy my wife needs. She has now asked for separation. Please pray for me, my wife, and our marriage. Thank you.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today with heavy hearts, lifting up ### and the struggles faced in this marriage. Lord, we know that marriage is a sacred covenant, and we seek Your guidance and healing in this time of trial. Your Word tells us in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight." We pray that ### will trust in You and seek Your wisdom in every step taken.

Father, we acknowledge the pain and brokenness that has entered this marriage through infidelity and the desire for a past lifestyle. We ask for Your forgiveness and mercy, as 1 John 1:9 assures us, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." Cleanse ###'s heart, Lord, and help to turn away from these destructive desires.

Lord, we pray for ###'s wife, who has been deeply hurt and is seeking separation. We ask that You comfort her and give her strength. May she feel Your presence and love in this difficult time. We also pray for ### to be filled with the Holy Spirit, to seek reconciliation, and to rebuild the emotional intimacy that has been lost. Your Word in Ephesians 4:32 reminds us to "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." We pray that both ### and the wife will find it in their hearts to forgive and to work towards healing their relationship.

Father, we know that nothing is impossible with You. We ask that You restore this marriage and bring both ### and the wife closer to You and to each other. Help them to communicate openly and honestly, and to find joy and peace in their union once again. As it says in Romans 12:12, "Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer." We commit to being faithful in prayer for this couple, trusting in Your power to transform and renew.
