I'm a part of many animal groups/forums online dedicated to exotic animals like keeping rats, mice, guinea pigs, etc. I rescue small animals myself, so I love following these groups, asking/giving advice there, and seeing cute animals.
In the past several months, an individual or maybe several people have been trying to cause upset amongst these communities by posting extreme animal abuse of them torturing animals in absolutely horrific ways. Several people including myself have tried to track down who is posting these and reported information to law enforcement/FBI, but they continue to post this horrible content since there are so many of them. I discovered recently as well that there are entire groups dedicated to making this type of content and they trade it and post it online to try and traumatize people as well as cause as much pain and harm to animals as they can. Often these people are young too, sometimes teenagers or young adults who fraternize over this shared interest of harm.
I'm praying today because my heart is heavy. Seeing this stuff has truly bothered me and I often get flashes of these images in my mind. I pray first and foremost that the Lord please protect these animals suffering at the hands of extreme abuse. I hope that those responsible are brought to justice and that their cruel intentions are replaced with becoming better people who want to do good. I pray that the animals who died due to these circumstances are with the Lord and that he comforts them and that they do not remember pain. I also pray for the Lord to please ease my mind and give me strength to overcome what I've seen.
