Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus, on behalf of our dear anonymous friend who is struggling with a masturbation addiction. We acknowledge that this is a burden that they have carried for 12 years, and they are seeking your help and deliverance from this sin.
Lord, we know that you are a loving and compassionate God, full of grace and mercy. Your Word tells us in 1 John 1:9 that if we confess our sins, you are faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We pray that our friend would have the courage to confess this struggle before you, acknowledging their need for your forgiveness and healing.
We also lift up the words of R.A. Torrey, who reminds us that we can approach you boldly in prayer when we come in the name of Jesus. We ask that you would grant our friend the strength and faith to come before you, pleading the name of Jesus as their advocate and intercessor. May they find comfort and assurance in knowing that Jesus has made a way for sinners to come near to you.
Father, we pray that you would break the chains of addiction that have bound our friend for so long. Your Word tells us in 1 Corinthians 10:13 that you are faithful and will not allow us to be tempted beyond what we can bear, but will provide a way of escape. We ask that you would provide that way of escape for our friend, leading them to resources, support, and accountability that will help them overcome this addiction.
Lord, we also pray for a renewed mind and a transformed heart. Help our friend to see themselves as you see them, as a beloved child of God, forgiven and redeemed through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. Fill them with your Holy Spirit, empowering them to resist temptation and walk in purity.
Finally, we pray for a community of believers to surround our friend with love, support, and encouragement. May they find a safe space to share their struggles, receive prayer, and find accountability. Help them to find strength in the fellowship of other believers who can walk alongside them on this journey of healing and freedom.
In Jesus' name, we pray, believing that you are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think. May our friend experience the freedom and victory that can only be found in you. Amen.
