Disciple of Prayer
I have a nephew (### ###) that was transported to ### hospital in ###. I really don't know the full detail than what my sister tells me. My nephew is using drugs and alcohol. He's been doing this for a number of years and he's starting to hallucinate. I don't know how bad it is but I hope after his experience with this he thinks of changing his life around. I love my nephew. He was doing good until his wife and kids left him. He just started to drink. I/we don't want to lose him to drugs and alcoholism. Thank you.

We are truly saddened to hear about the struggles of your nephew, ###. Let's come together in prayer and seek God's intervention in his life.

Firstly, we acknowledge that addiction is a serious issue, and it's important to address it with both love and truth. The Bible tells us, "Do not be drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit" (Ephesians 5:18 WEB). This applies not only to alcohol but to any substance that alters our minds and takes control away from the Holy Spirit.

Let us pray:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up ###. Lord, You know the struggles he is facing with drugs and alcohol. We ask that Your Holy Spirit convicts him of his need for You and gives him the strength to overcome these addictions. We pray for his complete healing, both physically and spiritually. Help him to see the destructive path he is on and turn from it.

Lord, we also pray for his family. Comfort them and give them the wisdom and patience to support ### in love. Help them to be a light that guides him back to You. We know that You have a plan for ###'s life, a plan for hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11 WEB). We claim that promise for him today.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

We encourage you to continue to stand in the gap for ###. Remind him of God's love and the power of the Holy Spirit to transform his life. "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17 WEB).

Lastly, ensure that ### understands that true change comes from a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. If he has not yet accepted Jesus as his Savior, encourage him to do so. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God and can experience true transformation (John 14:6 WEB).

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
