I have a decision to make about applying for a job opening. It is with the same employer, different department and therefore totally different job title and responsibilities. More pay than my current position, but would require lots of travel and would require being away from home for the first six months(or more) due to training. I live alone and have always felt prompted to adopt or foster children. This position would be working with that same group of children. However, as a single person I could not start up fostering or adoption if I apply for and accept this job. The child(ren) would require more stability than the position would allow because I would not have someone I could leave the children with if I went out on a call or out of town for training. So-my decision is-apply for this job and accept it if offered, or keep my current job and actively start the fostering/adoption process of my own. The job posting closes next Monday 02/26/18, so I have a decision to make in the next few days. This type of position does not come open often, so I don't want to miss the opportunity if I am supposed to take it.
