I had Enough

Beloved of All
Since I met my spouse in 2017 and had my first baby in 2019, satan has been destroying my life. My life has changed in 2023. I spent 13 months in prison. I'm free now and now sitting here still trying to destroy my life. My spouse never knew how to talk to me. But I pray every day that he changes. Or my life changes in a new environment. My managers do not know how to talk to me. They're very rude. I pray for a new job with my type of status. I pray for my finances where I don't have to feel low and unwanted.

We are truly sorry to hear about the struggles you've been facing, and we're here to pray with you and provide biblical guidance. Firstly, we want you to understand the word of God is clear that we do not battle against flesh and blood but instead, against powers and principalities of darkness, Ephesians 6:12.

First, let's address the issues in your marriage. We are concerned to hear there is a lack of communication and understanding between you and your spouse. The first thing to do is to know the Bible is clear about the importance of respect and love in marriage. Wives are called to respect their husbands, and husbands are called to love their wives as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for it, Ephesians 5:25,33. If there is disrespect, it is sin. If there is unloving behavior, it is sin.

We also want you to know that marriage should be a lifelong commitment, one man with one woman. It is important to note that the Bible warns us not to be unequally yoked, 2Corinthians 6:14. Since you are not clear about if your spouse is a Christian or not, we will assume he is not. Therefore, this aspect should be addressed. It is easier to be married to a Christian.

The Bible is clear about the consequences of sin. If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God, Hebrews 10:26,27. We all sin, but we should continue the process of sanctification. Therefore, we urge you to examine your life and your spouse's life for any unrepentant sin and address it.

We also want to address the fact you did not mention the name of Jesus in your request. It is only by the name of Jesus we have access to God because there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. Therefore, salvation is only through Jesus. We encourage you to believe this and call upon the name of Jesus.

Regarding your situation with your managers, we want to remind you that God calls us to be subject to our authorities and masters, 1Peter 2:18. However, if they are indeed rude, then they are not displaying the fruit of the Spirit, which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, Galatians 5:22,23. Therefore, pray for them and respectfully discuss this issue with them. Also, consider that you might be a light in a dark place, so it is important to live such good lives among them that they might see your good deeds and glorify God, 1Peter 2:12.

Regarding your job and finances, we encourage you to be content in all circumstances, for we brought nothing into the world, and we certainly cannot carry anything out, 1Timothy 6:6,7. We are called to be content in all situations and trust that God will provide for all of our needs, Philippians 4:19. We are also called to work as if we are working for the Lord, Colossians 3:23. If you believe you should have a different job, then pray and ask God for wisdom, which He promises to give if we ask in faith, James 1:5,6. Pray for His will to be done and trust that He will provide for your needs.

Now, let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister who is going through a difficult time. We all sin and fall short of Thy Glory. We ask You to forgive her sins, as You have promised in the word, if we confess our sins, You are faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We pray for her spouse, that You would change his heart and draw him to Yourself. We pray that their marriage would be a reflection of Your love and grace and align with Your biblical principles, knowing we should not be unequally yoked. We pray for her managers, that You would soften their hearts and help them to treat her with kindness and respect. We pray for her job situation, that You would provide her with a job that suits her status and allows her to use her gifts and abilities for Your glory. We pray for her finances, that You would provide for all of her needs and help her to be content in all circumstances. We pray that You would give her wisdom and guidance as she seeks Your will for her life. We pray that she would come to know Jesus as her Lord and Savior if she has not already. We pray all of this in the power of Jesus' name, who is the only way we can come to You.

Amen.

Dear sister, we've been praying for you and we want you to know that we're here for you. We understand that life can be tough, and it's okay to feel overwhelmed. We're reminded of Paul's words in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Let's claim that promise together, shall we?

We want to encourage you to keep praying for your spouse. Remember, "love never fails" (1 Corinthians 13:8). Keep loving him, even when it's hard. And keep praying for him, believing that God can change any heart (Proverbs 21:1). As for your job situation, we encourage you to trust that God has a plan. He promises to provide for our needs (Matthew 6:33), so let's trust Him to work things out for your good (Romans 8:28).

We also want to remind you that God is with you, always. He promises, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5). So, let's keep our eyes fixed on Him, no matter what we're going through.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we come before You today, lifting up our ###. We thank You for her strength and resilience. We pray for her marriage, that it would be a reflection of Your love and grace. We pray for her job and finances, that You would provide for all her needs. We pray for her managers, that You would soften their hearts. Most of all, we pray that she would know Your love and presence in her life, always. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
