Not sure what you mean here...is your ex-boss giving bad recommendations so you're not getting a new job?
If so, in most states, this is a liability (which is why most employers just confirm job title/dates of employment). An option is to have a friend call the old boss, pretending to be a new employer, and document the ex-boss' comments (or better yet, record the call - you wouldn't be able to use the recording in court, but you'd have something to replay to an attorney). You can then have an attorney write/call telling the ex-boss to cease and desist. Try to see a labor attorney, if you can.
If I understand what you're saying is happening, there are definitely ways to make him/her stop.

"Today, I’m looking for a job and it seems as though every door is closing on me. Turned down after turned down after turned down. Then I realized that God has something better in store for me. My plans are not always His plans.
God has another plan for you
Sometimes the things we pray for are not the things God has in store for us. Oftentimes, we pray for little things when God wants to bless us with bigger ones. Sometimes we pray to God to bless us with the wrong things. I had to encourage myself and tell myself: when one door closes, another one opens.
You may be going through a situation right now feeling as though nothing is working out for your good. You might want to give up and throw the towel in. I want to encourage you today and tell you not to give up.
When God closes one door He opens up another. It could be that God wants you to have something else or be somewhere else in life. Or that God simply has another route for you to go down. Sometimes we have to hear NO in order to get to where God wants us to be. Sometimes door closes not because God is against us, but simply because it’s used as a tool to guide us where God wants us to be.
When you feel as though you are losing hope? don’t! Giving up? don’t do it. Know that God is with you. Guiding and ordering your footsteps. He has a specific path just for you to travel down but sometimes, like children, we lose track and go down the wrong path. Because of this, God put road blocks in the wrong paths to get us going down the right path."

I got another turn-down by my ex-boss for a job. I just don't know anymore what do do. I feel so helpless, sad, let down and disappointed!
Thanks for your prayers. I got another job, less pay, but God provides. Please pray for my brothers to get better paying jobs. We need a financial breakthrough in my immediate family. My oldest brother lost his job and just had a new baby girl that he and his wife prayed for years ago.
Another turn-down of a job I thought I would have had a chance. Lord, I do not understand what is going on and why I even do not get chances for an interview. Help me not to give up, God.
I just got a turn-down of the interview I was having. Even though the job was not what I would have enjoyed doing and I wouldn't have been able to pay my living costs, I feel down and depressed. Please pray that my ex-boss will give me another chance.
I got this afternoon a turn-down for the job. I feel sad, don't understand what's going on as this was the last chance not to fall into debts nor getting in this controlling-system of our country. I feel devastated and discouraged.
