We understand that you are seeking a spouse who is a foreigner with a good attitude. We appreciate your desire for a godly marriage, and we will pray with you on this matter. First, we want to remind you of the importance of seeking God's will in all things, including your future spouse. Be open to where God is leading you. God wants to give you the desires of your heart when you delight yourself in him.
The best thing that you can do right now if you are not a believer is to receive Jesus as your saviour and join a local Bible believing church. It is only through Jesus Christ that we can receive salvation and justification. This will also allow you to receive frequent teaching from the Word of God, make new Christian friends, and join Christian activities and relation events. This is the most likely place that you will meet your future spouse and his measures to bless you will overflow. For whoever will give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because you are Christ's, most certainly I tell you, he will in no way lose his reward. Mar 9:41
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up this precious sister in Christ. We pray that you will guide her as she seeks your will for her future spouse. We ask that you will bring a godly man into her life, one who fears you and walks in your ways. We pray that this man will be a foreigner if that is your will, and that he will have a good attitude, treating her with kindness, respect, and love.
We pray that they will encourage each other to look at you so that they can stand blameless in your presents in peace and love. We pray that thier desires will be to live a peaceful life, to be godly and to be content with what they have. Godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we certainly can't carry anything out; but having food and clothing, we will be content with these things. But those who are determined to be rich fall into a temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful lusts, such as drown men in ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 1Ti 6:6-10
Help them to see the difference between love and infatuation. Infatuation can involve an immoral attraction which needs to be pushed away and rebuked. Keep in mind that 'love' is to be the commitment between a husband and wife that endures until death.
Please do not allow this woman to fall into the snare of looking for a man for any sort of self interest. Keep her from falling into sin. Shamefully, we have seen many men and women travelling in relationship and even marriage to gain access to citizenship or money. Be forwarned that this is no way to start a lifelong covenant with God and with a partner.
Help them both to see any character flaws that need to be addressed. God will give you the strength to change. Better is the end of a complaint than the beginning. The patient in spirit is better than a proud person in spirit. Do not be quick to get angry for anger lodges in the heart of a fool. Do not ask yourself, "Why do the poor times come to me, the days of finding do not come, and the last month has sealed up before me?" Eccl 7:8-10
We pray that they can be an encouragement to each other to draw closer to Jesus and to help each other grow in the fruit of the Spirit. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
Lastly, and most importantly, help them both to have a passion of drawing closer to God in all things. A passionate love of God is the greatest gift you can posses. If you both have this love and seek God yourselves as individuals there will already be perfect harmony between you in your walk with Jesus. Strive for what has eternal value. Do not set your sight on earthly things but set your mind on things above, where Christ is seated together in the heavenly places. Col 3:1
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Trust in God with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. You must trust the Lord. Proverbs 3:5-6
We encourage you to continue praying and seeking God's will for your future spouse. Remember that God's ways are higher than our ways, and his thoughts higher than our thoughts. Trust in him, and he will direct your paths.
