I filed my second restraining order against my daughter's father in April 2012 (I was granted one in another state 2 years ago). He has assaulted me on numerous times in the past. The judge agreed that there were several clear indications of severe domestic abuse and granted an indefinite restraining order. Thre restraining order does not prevent him from exercising his visitation rights (we have a custody/visitation order) it just prevents him from having any contact with me. He filed an appeal which was denied and soon after filed a second appeal. The second appeal would have cost me close to $10,000 for representation. Due to the level of court the appeal is now at, a written brief was needed from both of our attorney's. He paid for his representation and his attorney submitted a brief that was full of incorrect information. I decided to not spend that amount of money and put my trust in God as he was present in the court room and for knows first hand all of the physical and emotional abuse I endured. The court will make their decision any day now to either lift the restraining order or keep it in place. I have had the most stress free and peacefull time of my life the past 6 months. I am requesting that the restraining order stays in effect and that my daughter's father does not relocate to the area I live in.
