We understand that you're feeling disheartened and struggling with your feelings, Hurowen. Let's begin by remembering that our emotions and circumstances can seem to submerge us, but God is always present, ready to comfort and guide us.
Firstly, we want to address your statement that you've felt attracted to men who were unavailable. We want to encourage you and remind you of scripture. It is only by the name of Jesus that we can ask anything to the Father. In John 14:13-14 WEB, Jesus said, "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it." Later in John 16:23 WEB Jesus says, "Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you." We should also remember that calling on Jesus name in our prayers is not just adding IJN or something to the end of a prayer. Jesus said in John 14:6 WEB "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." This is the basic salvation message of the bible.
It's important to guard our hearts and minds, as they greatly influence our actions and decisions. In Proverbs 4:23 WEB, God's word tells us, "Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life." Additionally, we are called to set our minds on things above, and not on earthly things. Colossians 3:2 WEB says, "Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth."
In the realm of relationships, it's crucial to seek God's will and to be equally yoked with a fellow believer. In 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB, the Apostle Paul asks, "Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"
We should also consider that it is not good for man to be alone. In Genesis 2:18 WEB, God said "It is not good that the human should be alone. I will make him a helper comparable to him." God wants us to be in fellowship with one another and to have a spouse to help us as helpmeets. He made them male and female. In Gen 5:2 WEB, "He created them male and female, and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created."
Concerning your feelings about not being able to fall in love again, remember that God is the healer of broken hearts. In Psalm 147:3 WEB, we read, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." Trust in Him to restore your hope and capacity to love. Additionally, consider praying for the person God has or will be placing in your life.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up Hurowen, asking for Your comfort and guidance in her life. We pray that You heal her heart and help her to seek her life mate that You have for her in marriage. Help her to not be unequally yoked with an unbeliever. We pray that You help her to grow in the fruit of Your Spirit and to love as You love. We pray all these things in the precious name of Jesus.
We encourage you, Hurowen, to continue to walk in purity. In James 4:8 WEB, God's word tells us, "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded." Also we are called to be transformed. In Romans 12:2 WEB we are told "Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God." Set your mind on the will of God. In everything, trust in the Lord with all your heart; and lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
