Disciple of Prayer
I humbly come before you today asking for your prayers. In my past, I was deeply involved in the arts, particularly community theatre. For much of my life, I felt like an outsider, but during my time in theatre, I received a lot of attention, especially from women, which I had never experienced before. Unfortunately, I allowed this attention to become an obsession, seeking validation and approval in unhealthy ways.

Even after meeting my wife, I failed to change my behavior and continued to seek this attention. Over time, this led to hurtful actions that I deeply regret. I’ve since come to realize the damage I may have caused to others and the impact this has had on my reputation. More importantly, I see how it has affected my marriage and my faith.

I am truly sorry for my actions and have committed myself to counseling to address these behaviors. I’ve also decided to step away from theatre entirely, as I believe it is a trigger for my past mistakes. Most importantly, I am placing my life in God’s hands and seeking to live as a better Christian man and husband.

However, recent events have made this journey especially difficult. People have posted hurtful comments about me online in our local theatre community. Though my therapist reminds me that only a small group of people may have seen these posts, it feels overwhelming and isolating. This has caused significant strain on my mental health and my marriage.

I ask for your prayers:

That God will grant me the strength and wisdom to become a better man, fully devoted to Him and to my wife.

That this storm will pass quickly and I will find peace and healing through God’s grace.

That my wife will find it in her heart to forgive me and give our marriage another chance.

Thank you for your prayers, support, and faith. I trust in God’s power to heal, redeem, and restore.

In Christ’s love,

Thank you

We are truly moved by your humble and sincere request, and we are here to pray with you and offer biblical guidance. Firstly, we commend you for your commitment to change and your decision to place your life in God's hands. It is only through Jesus that you have access to God. Only by Jesus's sacrificial death and resurrection can your sins be forgiven. As the Word of God tells us in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Romans 10:9 because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. And Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Your realization of the damage caused by your past actions is evidence of the Holy Spirit working in your life. As it says in 2 Corinthians 7:10, For godly sorrow works repentance to salvation, which brings no regret, but the sorrow of the world works death.

We also support your decision to step away from theatre if it is a stumbling block for you. The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 8:13, Therefore, if food causes my brother to stumble, I will never eat meat again, so that I will not cause my brother to stumble. This does not mean to not eat meat but means that you have to avoid sin that easily besets you.

Regarding the hurtful comments, remember that Jesus said in Matthew 10:28, Don't be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. Rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna. The comments posted about you will not last for eternity and are not your judge. Jesus is the judge of your soul and has the right to judge and determine what happens to you.

We must address that your actions may have involved inappropriate relationships or interactions with women, which could be a form of adultery and must be addressed. Sexual sin is serious in God's eyes, and true repentance involves turning away from this sin. As we read in the Ten Commandments, thou shalt not commit adultery. 19, You shall not steal. 20, You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor. 21, You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor's. The Tenth Commandment should be the Tenth Decree in a Christian's life. Do not covet any thing that belongs to another person. There is no allowance in God's Kingdom for sexual relationships outside of marriage. Exodus 20:17.

We encourage you to be transparent with your wife, seeking her forgiveness and working towards reconciliation. Remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 5:23-24, Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has anything against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.

As you navigate this challenging time, meditate on Psalm 55:22, Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be shaken.

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before you today to lift up our brother in Christ who is struggling with the consequences of his past actions. We pray for his complete transformation through the renewing of his mind by the power of the Holy Spirit. Grant him the strength and wisdom to become a better man, fully devoted to You and to his wife.

Lord, we pray for his marriage. You are the redeemer and the restorer of all things, and we trust that you can heal their marriage.

Lord, we also pray for those who are speaking negatively about him. We pray that you would soften their hearts and help them to see the transformation that you are doing in his life. We pray that his light would shine before others, that they may see his good works and give glory to You, our Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16).

We ask all this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

In closing, as the Scripture says:

9 What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? May it never be! 10 For we have charged both Jews and Greeks, that they are all under sin. 11 As it is written,

There is no one righteous;
no, not one.
12 There is no one who understands.
There is no one who seeks after God.
13 They have all turned away.
They have together become unprofitable.
There is no one who does good,
no, not so much as one.
14 Their throat is an open tomb.
With their tongues they have used deceit.
The poison of vipers is under their lips;
15 whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.
16 Their feet are swift to shed blood.
17 Destruction and misery are in their ways.
18 The way of peace, they haven't known.
19 There is no fear of God before their eyes.

20 But we know that the law is not made for a righteous person, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, 21 for the sexually immoral, for homosexuals, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and for any other thing that is contrary to the sound doctrine; 22 according to the Good News of the glory of the blessed God, with which I have been entrusted. 1 Timothy 1:9-22.

Dear friend, we're right here with you, feeling the weight of the recent events. We understand that it's overwhelming, but remember, God is always by your side. As you've taken steps to change and put your life in God's hands, we're confident that He's working in you.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we come to you today, lifting up our brother. We ask for your strength and wisdom to be upon him, helping him to become the man you've created him to be, fully devoted to you and his wife. Lord, we pray for his marriage, that you would heal and restore it. We ask that you soften the hearts of those speaking negatively, that they may see the transformation in his life and give glory to you.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Keep trusting in God's power to heal, redeem, and restore. You're not alone in this journey.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
