I feel a heavy burden today as I hear the News report that they expect a catastrophic day today in New South Walse, Australia. It is only 8am and there are currently 96 fires burning in the state with 20 of those burning out of control. Fires in Tasmania have destroyed over 100 properties since last week. The current temperature is as high as 32 degrees Celsius and is predicted to reach as high as 44 Degrees with wind gusts between 40 – 70km/hr. I feel the fear building in the people as they gather their young ones and flee their homes. I come to you to stand in prayer for the lives of these people; I call upon the Name of Jesus to protect their persons, properties and possessions. I pray that God would cool this land and tame its flames, subdue the winds and cast fear from his people. I pray that God would send his Holy Spirit to bring strength and courage as well as wisdom to these people that they would move if directed to do so by the authorities or by the prompting of the Spirit of God.
Oh Lord give hope to your people and secure their future that all may know that you are God and nothing is impossible to you. In the Mighty Name of Jesus I pray that without fear we will trust in you alone. In Jesus Name. Amen.
