Dear ###, we are here with you in spirit, lifting your situation up to our Heavenly Father. Failure can feel devastating, but remember, God's mercies are new every morning. As it is written in Lamentations 3:22-23, "It is of Yahweh's loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn't fail. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness."
Firstly, let's pray together:
"Father in Heaven, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up ### who is in need of Your grace and mercy. Lord, they have faced a setback, but we believe that Your plans are always to prosper us and not to harm us, plans to give us hope and a future. Grant ### strength and wisdom to navigate this situation. If it is Your will, open up a path for them to still pass, or guide them towards a better path. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Now, ###, we encourage you to trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6). This setback might be a redirection to a better path. Keep studying, keep persevering, and keep trusting in the Lord.
Lastly, we want to remind you that it is through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God. If you haven't already, confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for with the heart one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10:9-10).
Stand firm in your faith, and remember that God is always with you. He is faithful, and He will see you through this.

We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect.
