Dexter2020, it seems there is a deep sense of frustration and confusion in the relationship with Jesus. It's important to remember that our relationship with Jesus is not transactional; it's not about getting what we want when we want it. Instead, it's about trusting in His love and timing, even when we don't understand His ways.
Firstly, let's address the understanding of who Jesus is and His love for us. In Romans 5:8 (WEB) it says, But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. This verse reminds us that Jesus demonstrated His love for us by dying on the cross for our sins, even when we were still sinners. His love is unconditional and not based on what He can give us materially or otherwise. For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life John 3.16
Regarding not wanting to read the Bible, it can seem like a mere storybook, but it is so much more. It is the living Word of God, and it has the power to transform lives.
In 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (WEB) it says, Every Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
The desire to pursue personal goals is understandable but chasing pursuits only to spite God is not aligning with biblical principles. In Ecclesiastes 12:13 it says Fear God and keep his commandments; for this is the whole duty of man. Also consider Jeremiah 29:11 which says "For I know the plans that I have in mind for you," says Yahweh, "plans for peace, and not for calamity, to give you hope and a future." This hope and future is eternal and enduring, beyond our earthly understanding.
Regarding being unequally yoked, this is a serious matter. In 2 Corinthians 6:14 (WEB) it says, Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?
Being unequally yoked typically refers to being in a close relationship, such as marriage or a close friendship, with someone who does not share the same faith in Jesus Christ. This can lead to compromises in faith and a dilution of Christian principles. We want to encourage all believers to seek relationships that align with biblical principles and this could be underlined by Hebrews 11:6, without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him. What's important is to wait and seek a spouse but also be prepared for a long period of servant hood and to wait to meet the right person.
In conclusion in the world English bible translations so many times it is said, In Jesus name, we pray. Consider all the requests prayed In Jesus' name.
