I don’t want my son Jason to go back to drinking alcohol

My son Jason is staying with his older brother who drinks Jason just came out of Rehab about a month ago he been sober since March of this year I called him tonight and he told me he had a drink I am so upset with him but I know it’s the devil please pray that my son Jason doesn’t throw his sober life away and I pray my son Jermaine stops drinking alcohol to so they can live together without alcohol in Jesus name I pray Amen

We understand your concern and heartache, Yvette. It's crucial to remember that we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil (Ephesians 6:12). We will stand with you in prayer for Jason and Jermaine.

Firstly, let's pray:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up Jason and Jermaine. Lord, we know that You desire for them to lead sober and godly lives. We ask that You strengthen Jason against temptation, and help him to stand firm in his resolve to stay sober. We also pray for Jermaine, that he would seek Your will and turn away from alcohol. Help them both to be a positive influence on each other, and to live together in harmony, with Your love guiding their actions. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

It's important to remember that God promises us, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13). Encourage Jason with this truth, reminding him that God is with him and will provide a way out of temptation.

We also encourage you to speak the truth in love to both Jason and Jermaine (Ephesians 4:15). Explain to them the destructive path of alcohol and remind them of God's desire for them to live sober and holy lives (1 Peter 1:15-16).

Lastly, continue to pray fervently for them, trusting that God hears your prayers and is working in their lives. As it says in James 5:16, "The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."

Dear Lord, we ask You to wrap Your loving arms around Jason and Jermaine. Give Jason the strength to resist the temptation to drink, and help him remember the joy of his sobriety. For Jermaine, we pray that he'll find the courage to turn away from alcohol and support Jason in his journey. Help them to encourage and build each other up, living in harmony and love, just as You intended. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
