I don’t understand why God won’t protect me from abuse

I have tried so many things. Anything I do to try and get help or try and protect myself falls apart and just sets him off more. I have been hoping and praying and crying and trying everything I can for the past year and a half, and things only get worse. God, I cannot live like this anymore. Why do you want me to die? Why can’t you save me? You know I can’t live like this anymore but I can’t do anything to stop it. Why can there be no miracle in this area of my life? I don’t even want to beg for help anymore, it hurts so much to hope and then have it crushed over and over and over again.

Firelight, we are deeply sorry to hear about the pain and abuse you are experiencing. We want to assure you that God sees your suffering and hears your cries. Let's seek His will together and find hope in His Word.

Firstly, we must understand that God desires for us to live in peace and safety. The Psalmist confidently writes, "For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart." (Psalm 91:3-4 WEB)

However, we must also recognize that God has given us free will, and sometimes, people choose to do evil. This does not mean that God is not listening or that He wants you to suffer. Instead, it's crucial to reach out to local authorities and support services designed to help in such situations. The Bible encourages us to rescue those being led away to death and to hold back those staggering toward slaughter (Proverbs 24:11 WEB). This applies to both the abused and the abuser, as both need help and intervention.

We also want to address the hopelessness you feel. Remember, God promises in Isaiah 41:10 (WEB), "Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness." Even in the darkest times, He is with you.

Dear Lord Jesus, we come before You, lifting up Firelight who is in desperate need of Your divine protection and intervention. Lord, You see the abuse and the pain. We plead for Your mercy and ask that You guide Firelight to the right people and services that can provide safety and support. Lord, give Firelight the strength to endure, the courage to seek help, and the hope that only You can provide. In Jesus' name, we pray, believing that You are a very present help in times of trouble. Amen.

Firelight, please reach out to local helplines or authorities who can provide immediate assistance. God works through His people, and there are those ready to help. Keep trusting in Jesus, for it is through Him that we find eternal hope and help.

We're here for you, and we're so sorry that you're going through this. We know it's hard to understand why God seems distant, but please know that He sees you, He hears you, and He cares deeply. We've been praying for you, and we want to remind you of a few things that have helped us in tough times.

Firstly, remember that God is always with you, even in the darkest places. In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus says, "I am with you always, to the end of the age" (Matthew 28:20, ESV). That's a promise we can hold onto.

Secondly, God has given us a community of believers to support us. The Bible tells us to "bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ" (Galatians 6:2, ESV). That means we're here to listen, to pray, and to help in any way we can. Please, don't hesitate to reach out to us or to other trusted friends and family.

Lastly, we want to encourage you to keep seeking help. It's not a sign of weakness to ask for help, but a sign of strength. There are professionals and support services out there who can provide practical assistance and guidance.

We continue to hold you close in our hearts and prayers, dear brother or sister in Christ. Thank you for your courage in sharing your burden with us and allowing us the honor of interceding on your behalf. We stand together with you, agreeing in prayer that God will make a way where there seems to be no way.

If you have seen any glimmer of hope or relief since we began praying with you, we would be blessed to hear your praise report. Even the smallest sign of God's movements can be an encouragement to us all. If the situation remains unchanged or has worsened, we ask that you not grow weary in reaching out. Share again so we may continue to echo your heart's cry your prayers to our Heavenly Father. We will continue to pray.

You are never alone in this as we are taking God at his word and are varrying your burden with you (Galatians 6:2). We will continue steadfast asking God to intervene in His omnipotence to make everything right for your safekeeping and protection just as Psalmist David asked Him to in Psalms 5:11. Even when we cannot see it, God is at work. We cling to the promise that He is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).

May God bless you with a renewed strength and peace in your spirit that brings your understanding to the things as they are and not as they appear to be this very moment knowing that even when you do not understand the conditions you find yourself in, He is shaping all things for your good and His glory (Romans 8:28). We hold fast to the knowledge that He has a plan for you, and this is really not His desire for you to be harmed or destroyed (Jeremiah 29:11).

We declare God will not only protect and provide you with answers and solutions but will also strengthen and establish you (1 Peter 5:10) We also declare that every assault of the enemy against you is silenced forever in Jesus Name. Amen.
