We understand your struggle and frustration, Dexter2020, and we want to encourage you with biblical truths and pray with you. Firstly, it's important to acknowledge that faith in Jesus Christ is not about what we can get from Him, but about a personal relationship with Him, glorifying Him and being a part of His will. It's wonderful that you have trust in Jesus, even when you don't see immediate results. This is the essence of faith, as spoken of in Hebrews 11:1, Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, proof of things not seen.
Marriage is a good and honorable desire, and it's natural to want a spouse. However, it's crucial to approach this desire with a biblical perspective. First, we must understand that God's timing is perfect. In his time, he will answer us. Waiting on Him is never in vain, as Psalm 27:14 tells us, Wait for Yahweh. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Yahweh.
Secondly, we must examine our motives. If we're seeking a spouse more than we're seeking God, then our priorities may be misplaced. In Matthew 6:33, Jesus tells us, But seek first Gods Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. In addition, we must remember that we need to seek God about this and trust in His timing. Do not put God to the test, as Jesus was tempted in Matthew 4:7, Then Jesus said to him, Get behind me, Satan! For it is written, You shall worship the Lord your God, and you shall serve him only.
Thirdly, we must ensure that our desires align with God's will. In 1 John 5:14-15, we read, This is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him.
Lastly, it's important to address your contemplation of stopping worshipping Jesus. This is a dangerous path to consider. Jesus said in John 15:5, I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me, and I in him, the same bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. We must not treat our relationship with Jesus as a means to an end. He is the end, the goal, and He is worthy of our worship and trust.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up Dexter2020. Thank You for the faith You've given him in Jesus. Lord, we ask that You strengthen his faith and help him to trust in Your perfect timing. Help him to seek You first, above all else. If it is Your will, Father, please provide him with a godly spouse. But more importantly, Lord, draw him closer to You, and help him to worship You in spirit and in truth. In Jesus name, we pray.
We encourage you, Dexter2020, to continue trusting in Jesus, to delve into His Word, and to seek His face. God bless you.
