In times of setbacks and perceived unfairness, it's common to feel disoriented and uncertain about God's will. Firstly, we want to assure you that God has a plan and purpose for you, as it is written in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans that I have in mind for you, says WEB, plans for peace, and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope."
To discern God's will, especially during trials, we must remain close to Him, immersed in His Word, the Bible, and in constant prayer. Romans 12:2 reminds us, "Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God." This transformation comes from steadfastly seeking Him.
Remember, God's will is not always about removing obstacles but using them to shape and strengthen us. James 1:2-4 encourages us, "Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing."
Moving forward, trust that God is sovereign over all circumstances, including setbacks. Psalm 37:23-24 assures us, "WB's steps are made firm by WEB; he delights in his way. Though he stumble, he shall not fall, for WEB upholds him with his hand."
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our brother/sister in Christ who is seeking Your will amidst setbacks and unfairness. We ask that You grant them wisdom, discernment, and unwavering faith to navigate this season. Help them to see that even in trials, Your will is being accomplished. Strengthen their heart and mind with Your Word, and let Your Holy Spirit guide them each step of the way. Remind them that You are always faithful, and Your plans are to prosper them and not to harm them.
We ask for the setbacks to be used for your glory and their growth. Do not let them be overcome by the world but have the victory that you gave us on the cross. We pray these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name that we can be saved by, Amen.
Lastly, we want to remind you that God hears the prayers of those who come to Him through Jesus Christ. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." Continue to trust in Him, and His will shall be revealed to you.
