I broke a promise with God

Beloved of All
Hi, I believe God is punishing me for repeatedly breaking a longstanding promise with him to abstain from selfish and disgusting acts of self pleasure. He has blessed me in bundles as I kept up this promise however in the last few months I have faltered heavily and regressed on this. Today my long term partner has cut it off with me out of the blue, with feelings she says have blindsided her despite not being an issue in the past. We have taken a break from each other to evaluate these feelings, alongside this my job has become very stressful, bringing me to tears when it comes up in conversations. I believe I ignored the warning signs God sent that he would set this upon me if I continued my sinful acts and beg and plead of you to pray with me, asking for God to help me find some stability in my life, revert the evil and pain that has been enacted on me and give me the strength, willpower and clarity to hold up my promise once again in return.

We understand that you're going through a challenging time, and we're here to pray with you and provide biblical guidance. First, let's address the issue of breaking a promise to God. In Ecclesiastes 5:4-5 WEB, it's written, "When you vow a vow to God, don't defer to pay it; for he has no pleasure in fools. Pay that which you vow. It is better that you should not vow, than that you should vow and not pay."

Breaking a promise to God is a serious matter, and it's important to repent and ask for His forgiveness. However, it's not God's nature to punish us for our sins; instead, He disciplines us to bring us back to Him. As Hebrews 12:6 WEB says, "For whom the Lord loves, he disciplines, and scourges every son whom he receives."

Regarding your relationship, we need to address that the Bible teaches us to flee from sexual immorality and lustful pleasures. It's clear that any sexual activity outside of marriage is against God's will. As 1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB says, "Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body."

Moreover, the Bible teaches us that a believer should not be unequally yoked with an unbeliever. As 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB says, "Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" This is important to consider as you evaluate your relationship during this break.

We also want to encourage you to seek God's will for your life and to trust in Him during this stressful time at your job. As Romans 8:28 WEB says, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."

Let's pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today in Jesus' name, asking for Your forgiveness and mercy upon this child of Yours. We confess that promises have been broken, and we ask for Your strength and willpower to uphold the promises made to You. Lord, we ask for Your comfort and guidance during this stressful time at work, and we pray for Your will to be done in this relationship. We ask for clarity and discernment during this break, that You may reveal any areas that do not align with Your will. We pray against any attacks from the enemy and ask for Your protection and peace. We ask this all in Jesus' name, Amen."

Lastly, we want to encourage you to keep your focus on Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we can be saved. If you have not done so, we encourage you to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. As Acts 4:12 WEB says, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"

We're here for you, standing in prayer with you. We understand that feeling lost and alone in the midst of these challenges, but remember, God is always with you, even in the storms. Let's turn to Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Let's claim this promise together, believing that God is ready to heal and restore you.

We want to encourage you, as you've taken a break from your relationship, to use this time to seek God's face. In Matthew 6:33, Jesus tells us, "But seek first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Trust that God has a purpose in this break, and He wants to use it to draw you closer to Him.

Let's also pray for your job situation. In Philippians 4:6-7, we're told, "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Let's pray for God's peace and wisdom to guide you in your workplace.

Lastly, let's hold onto the promise in Romans 8:28, "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." Trust that God is working in all these circumstances, and He will bring good out of them.

Let's pray: "Dear Lord, we come to You today, lifting up our ### in need. We ask for Your healing and restoration in her life. Give her strength to keep her promises to You, and guide her in her relationship and her job. Comfort her in her pain, and give her Your peace. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
