Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus on behalf of our anonymous friend who is experiencing severe depression and a lack of hope. Lord, we lift up this individual to you, knowing that you are the source of all comfort and peace. Your Word tells us in Psalm 34:17-18 that you are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit. We ask that you draw near to our friend in their time of need and bring healing to their mind, body, and spirit.
Lord, we pray that you would grant them restful sleep, for your Word assures us in Psalm 4:8 that you alone make us dwell in safety. We ask that you calm their anxious thoughts and replace them with your peace that surpasses all understanding, as promised in Philippians 4:6-7. Help them to cast all their burdens upon you, knowing that you care for them, as stated in 1 Peter 5:7.
Father, we acknowledge that you are the God of hope, as mentioned in Romans 15:13. We ask that you fill our friend with a renewed sense of hope and purpose. Surround them with your love and remind them of their worth and value in your eyes. Help them to find comfort and solace in your presence, knowing that you are with them every step of the way.
We also pray for wisdom and guidance for our friend. Show them the steps they need to take to seek help and support, whether it be through counseling, therapy, or reaching out to loved ones. Provide them with the strength and courage to take these necessary steps towards healing.
Lord, we trust in your faithfulness and your ability to bring light into the darkest of situations. We ask that you bring restoration and joy into our friend's life. May they experience your love and grace in a tangible way, and may their depression be replaced with a renewed sense of hope and purpose.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
