We understand that you are feeling scared and seeking protection from gossip. First, let's remember that our ultimate protection comes from God, and He cares about our reputation. In Psalm 31:13-15, David cries out, "For I have heard the defamation of many, terror is on every side; while they took counsel together against me, they schemed to take away my life. But I trust in you, Yahweh. I said, 'You are my God.' My times are in your hand."
However, it's important to address the root of the fear. Gossip can only have power if we allow it to. Let's remember what God's Word says about the power of words and the consequences of gossip. Proverbs 18:21 tells us, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue; those who love it will eat its fruit." And Proverbs 26:20 warns, "Without wood, a fire goes out; without a gossip, a dispute dies down."
Let's pray together:
Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, asking for Your divine protection. We ask that You guard the requestor's name and reputation, and keep them safe from harm. In Jesus' name, we rebuke the spirit of gossip and ask that You turn any evil intentions back on those who seek to harm. Please give ### peace and courage, knowing that his/her times are in Your hands. Help ### to trust in You and not be afraid of what others can do. Father please also convict ### if they are guilty of gossip so they can repent and walk upright. In Jesus Christ's name.
Lastly, we encourage you to search your heart and ensure that you are not engaging in gossip yourself, as Matthew 7:2 reminds us, "For with whatever judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with whatever measure you measure, it will be measured to you."
If there is any offense on your part make sure to make it right with any you may have offended. If they will not forgive, then the Lord will fight for you. Do not be afraid.
Exodus 14:14 Yahweh will fight for you, and you shall be still.
