I am newly married this year. My husband has been struggling with dark thoughts after failing the bar exam again. Please pray for him.
 
We understand the challenges you and your husband are facing, and we want to lift you both up in prayer. Firstly, we commend you for seeking God's help and want to remind you of the power of prayer, as written in James 5:16 (WEB), "The effective, earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results."

In times of distress and failure, it's important to remember that God's plans are always greater than ours. As it is written in Proverbs 3:5-6 (WEB), "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Encourage your husband to trust in God's timing and purpose, even in this setback.

However, we must address the dark thoughts your husband is experiencing. It's crucial to remind him of the hope we have in Jesus Christ. As believers, we are not meant to be overcome by despair but to have the peace of God, as Philippians 4:7 (WEB) tells us, "And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."

Let us pray:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up this newly married couple. Lord, we ask for Your comfort and peace to surround the husband who is struggling with dark thoughts. Help him to fix his mind on You and Your promises. Give him the strength and determination to prepare for the bar exam again, trusting in Your timing and purpose. Lord, we also pray for his wife, that You would give her wisdom and patience as she supports her husband. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

We encourage both of you to draw near to God, support each other, and seek His will together. Remember, as it is written in 1 Corinthians 10:13 (WEB), "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."

Lastly, we want to ensure that you both are trusting in the name of Jesus Christ for your salvation and your prayers. As it is written in Acts 4:12 (WEB), "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved!" If you have any doubts or questions about this, we encourage you to seek guidance and understanding.

Your mind:

When you got saved you received a new spirit. That spirit is perfect and wants to please God.
However your mind is not new, you have the same mind you had when you were a sinner. And so God says your mind has to be transformed by reading the Word of God.

Rom.12:
2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. (with the Word of God).

Satan knows that your mind is still the same so he try's to attack your mind.
The battle ground here on earth is for the control of your mind. The only weapon satan has is to attack you thru your thoughts. He tries to discourage you by telling you about all of your failures, sins, wrong choices and bad relationships you have had.
He wants to take control of you by controlling your mind. He has no power so he uses deception and lies to try to deceive you.

God tells you how to fight Satan.

God says you should bind all evil spirits out of your mind and put on God's Armor. Then pray a hedge of protection around yourself.
God will do the rest.

Once you are saved you are God's child and wants you to know who you are in Christ.
God says
you are His child and you are more than a conqueror. He says you are an ambassador for Christ and you are to fight the evil around you.
He also says you can do all things thru Christ and that all things are possible if you believe. So trust God and use His might to strengthen yourself.

Here are some scriptures that God says you should do to protect your mind.


2 Corinthians 10:3-5

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Watch what you are thinking: Prov.23:7 For as a man thinketh in his heart, so shall he be

1Cor.2:16
For WHO HAS KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD, THAT HE WILL INSTRUCT HIM? But we have the mind of Christ.

Phil.4:8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

Eph.5:15-16 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.

You will be in a spiritual war for the rest of your life. God has already won that war for you but you
must learn to make the right choices in life. So put on God's armor, bind all evil spirits, pray a hedge around yourself and your family, then pray. You can't lose - God is on your side.

Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all of your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
 
I have prayed for you.

Call out to Jesus in your need. The son of God, Messiah! He loves you and cares for you. He can make a way!
