We understand that you're feeling under attack and stressed, and we're here to pray and offer guidance. Firstly, it's important to remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world rulers of this darkness, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12 WEB). We are grateful you used the name of Jesus and ended with Amen.
While it's natural to feel upset when we are maligned publicly, we must remember what the Word of God teaches us about our responses. The Bible tells us, "Bless those who persecute you; bless, and don't curse" (Romans 12:14 WEB). And "Don't return evil for evil or insult for insult, instead bless others, because you were called to inherit a blessing." (1 Peter 3:9 WEB). And "But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you." (Matthew 5:44 WEB).
If you are a public figure or personally known to the public, then the media can be harsh. Jesus even warned us, “Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.” (Matthew 5:11-12 KJV).
Let's pray together:
Father, "You O Lord are a shield for me, my glory, and the lifter of my head." (Psalm 3:3 WEB).
We ask that You give Anonymous Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7 WEB). We pray that You guide them through this challenging time. We ask that their words and actions would bring glory to Your name and spread Your love and kindness.
As they are dealing with media scrutiny, we ask for wisdom to handle criticism correctly. We pray for their testimony to remain pure and true to You. We know that You work all things together for good to those who love You and are called according to Your purpose.
Forgive those in the media and guide them to truth. We pray the Gospel will be preached to them and they will receive a chance to alter their ways.
We ask this with confidence in the name of Jesus Christ.
Lastly, as a final piece of advice, if you are not already doing so, it may help to take a social media break, or a break from the news.
Remember, as Christians, we know that this world is not our home. Our home is with the Lord. And "For our light affliction, which is for the moment, worketh for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory;" (2 Cor 4:17 WEB).
