We are truly sorry to hear about the struggle with gambling addiction and the pain it has caused. Remember, God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1 WEB.
Firstly, we want to assure that there is hope and a way out through Jesus Christ. As it is written, No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB.
However, we must also admonish in love, gambling is a form of covetousness, a love of money, and it is the root of all kinds of evil. 1 Timothy 6:10 WEB. It is written, For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matthew 6:21 WEB. Gambling places our trust in chance and wealth instead of God, and it often leads to pain and suffering.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our dear brother in Christ who is struggling with gambling addiction. We know, Lord, that this is not Your will for his life, and we ask for Your intervention and deliverance.
Father, we pray that You would forgive him for any sin related to this addiction. Help him to see the harm it has caused in his life and the lives of those around him. Give him the strength and courage to turn away from this temptation and to seek You with all his heart.
We pray that You would fill him with Your Holy Spirit, guiding him in all truth and wisdom. Help him to make wise decisions and to find joy and contentment in You alone.
Lord, we ask that You would provide for his needs according to Your riches in glory. Help him to trust in You for his provision and to be a good steward of the resources You have given him.
Finally, Father, we pray that You would surround him with godly counsel and support. Help him to find accountability and encouragement from fellow believers who can walk alongside him in this journey.
In the powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
We urge to take practical steps to overcome this addiction. Seek help from a local church or Christian counselor. There are also Christian support groups for gambling addiction, such as Gamblers Anonymous, which can provide a safe and supportive environment for recovery.
Remember, God is faithful, and He will not allow to be tempted beyond what can be endured. Trust in Him, and He will make a way of escape.
Lastly, we gently remind that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 WEB. If there is doubt or a need for reassurance about salvation in Jesus Christ, please let us know. We are here to help and support in every way we can.
