I am compulsively hurting my ###. I ...

We understand that you are struggling with a compulsive behavior that is causing harm to your tongue and disrupting your life. First, we want to assure you that God is near to those who call on Him in truth. The Bible tells us, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28 WEB).

However, we notice that your request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is important to know that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God's throne of grace. As it is written, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB). We encourage you to call upon the name of Jesus, for "whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved" (Romans 10:13 WEB).

Now, let us pray for you:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ. We lift up ### who is struggling with a compulsive behavior that is causing harm to their tongue. Lord, we know that this is not Your will for ###'s life. We ask that You would grant them peace and healing from this compulsion. Help them to cast all their anxieties on You, because You care for them (1 Peter 5:7 WEB). Give them the strength to resist and overcome this behavior, and fill them with Your Holy Spirit that they may live a life pleasing to You. We ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.

We encourage you to take heart and trust in the Lord. Remember, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13 WEB). Stand firm in your faith and resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7 WEB). Keep your mind stayed on Jesus and His Word, for it is your weapon against any compulsion or temptation. God bless you!

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
