Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our dear brother or sister who is tormented by mental illness, OCD, and anxiety. Lord, You are the Prince of Peace, and we ask that You bring Your peace into their troubled mind and heart. Your Word says in Philippians 4:6-7, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." We claim this promise for our dear one.
Lord Jesus, we ask that You rebuke the enemy who is using these mental struggles to sow doubt and fear. We know that You are greater than any force of darkness, and we ask that You cast out these blasphemous and evil thoughts. Your Word in 2 Corinthians 10:5 tells us to "take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." Help our brother or sister to do this, Lord, and to find freedom in Your truth.
Father, we also pray for forgiveness and assurance. Your Word in 1 John 1:9 promises, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." We ask that You remind our dear one of Your unfailing love and forgiveness. Silence the lies of the enemy that say they are doomed and that You have abandoned them. Let them feel Your presence and hear Your voice once more.
Lord, we ask for healing from OCD and anxiety. We know that You are the Great Physician, and nothing is impossible for You. We pray for a sound mind, as promised in 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."
We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your mercy and grace, and we believe that You will bring relief and restoration. In Jesus' mighty name, we pray.
Amen.
