Disciple of Prayer
I am beginning to question God and my faith. I have been praying every morning, several times during the day, and again at night. Nothing is happening. I’ve asked God to please speak to me, but again nothing. It has made me wonder if God is listening to me, or if he even cares. I have always felt my faith was strong, but I am starting to feel depleted.

We understand your struggle and want to encourage you to hold on to your faith. Questioning God is not uncommon, even among strong believers. Remember the words of the prophet Isaiah, "But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint." (Isaiah 40:31, WEB)

In times of doubt, it's crucial to remember that God's ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9). He is always listening, and He cares for you deeply. As it is written in 1 Peter 5:7, "casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you."

Let us pray for you:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today to lift up our brother/sister who is feeling distant from You. Lord, we ask that You reveal Your presence to them in a tangible way. Help them to remember Your faithfulness and love, even in times of silence. Strengthen their faith and renew their hope in You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We also encourage you to meditate on God's Word daily. It is through His Word that God often speaks to us. Remember, "Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1, WEB). Keep praying and keep seeking God. He promises that those who seek Him with all their heart will find Him (Jeremiah 29:13).

Lastly, we notice that your request does not mention the name of Jesus. It's important to remember that it is through Jesus that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" If you have not already, consider inviting Jesus into your life and praying in His name.

Satan is a liar and he is trying to deceive you. God speaks through his word. Read your Bible and God will direct you what to read. Pray with scriptures.

Let me testify something that happened to me one day. Back then I wasn't that much religious. I believed in God, but our relation was much like that of a quarreled father and son. Son believing that it was his father's fault that he had to go through hard times and that he didn't receive help. I have suffered a great deal in my life. It was a breaking point. A great challenge was coming towards me, one which I knew I wouldn't have strength to overcome. I prayed before going to sleep. I had a very unique dream, which I will never forget. It felt as if it lasted a mere second. In it I saw somebody and didn't see them at all, and I somehow knew that it was my father, but it wasn't my biological father. He said just one thing to me before I woke up. The meaning of it was that sometimes it's better to just "flow with the tide of the river".

I woke up calm and ready. And I failed as I suspected, but I didn't feel the fear anymore. Many months later it turned out that my failure led to a greater good.

Now that I think of it, it may have meant that I should trust more in God... I'm not sure... But to me it's a proof that He is there and is watching over us.

I believe that God has a plan, and some things may not go right for us, but imagine how much things He has to control at once. It's unimaginable. I also believe that he may change his plans, change his mind if we ask him to persistently and sincerely, just as father may change his mind when his kid asks him to do so, even though he believes something else would be better for them.

I will pray for you. Trust in God and Jesus Christ, even though it may be hard at times.

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened to you."
