We understand your heart's cry for restoration in your marriage and for your son's protection as he embarks on a new journey. Let us pray together and seek God's will according to His Word.
Firstly, let's remember what the WEB tells us about marriage in Ephesians 5:25-33: "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it... Nevertheless let each one of you in particular love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband." For your marriage to be restored, both of you need to commit to loving and respecting each other as Christ loves the church. This includes open, healthy communication and putting God first in all things.
Let us pray:
"Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, pleading for restoration in this marriage. We pray that You soften both hearts, instill a spirit of open and honest communication, and remind them of the love and commitment they made to each other and to You. Help them to put You first in their marriage, to love and appreciate each other as You intended. May honesty and love prevail in their union. Lord, we believe that 'with God all things are possible' (Matthew 19:26 WEB).
For the son who is preparing to leave for college, we pray Psalm 91:11-12 over him: 'For he will command his angels concerning you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone.' Father, surround him with Your ministering angels, give him discernment over the people he meets and the situations he encounters. Guide him in all his ways, that he may walk in Your truth and grow in Your wisdom.
Lastly, we remind you both to "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and pleading with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7 WEB).
In all things, remember to call upon the name of Jesus, for 'There is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!' (Acts 4:12 WEB). Trust in Him, and He will see you through."
Stay steadfast in prayer and in the Word, continually aligning your hearts and minds with God's will.
